Ironman
These are very yummy! Taste like Welch's grape juice in a candy chew. You really have to chew them for a good bit before they dissolve which is perfect for the Bariatric regimen. I was considering Bariatric surgery but chickened out which is how I discovered about Bariatric vitamins which are much higher quality than your regular over the counter stuff. It's absorbed by your body more efficiently and helps with your metabolism better too. Personally I take these because I have a low red blood cell count and a really low iron. These help me feel better. I am also on Thyroid medication and my Endocrinologist says I should never take these with my Levothyroxine, Thyroid meds as iron deactivates the absorption of the Thyroid medication. And my primary care doc says you should take iron only after not eating anything for a couple of hours before and nothing by mouth for 2 hours after for maximum absorption and benefit. I take my Thyroid pills when I first get up and don't eat for an hour after. I chew these right before bedtime at least 2 hours past my supper. You should probably consult your health care professional before taking these for the proper instructions tailored for you .

For low iron
My child's doctor recommended these because of low iron! They are very chewy like candy and he doesn't ever complain about taking them! They seem to keep his iron levels up as well!

Great taste, easy to chew and don't upset my stomach like some iron products do.
These come in three flavors and my bariatric surgeon gave me a trial pack of one of each flavor to try, As much as I love watermelon, it just didn't hit right, so I chose the grape and have been with that flavor since. These chewable's have 45 mg of iron and in my case I can only take one every third day so it doesn't cause other issues. But of the brands I have tried from pills to chewables, this is my top pick. On warmer days, the wrapper might stick, so I just put it in the fridge with my chewable multi-vitamins for about 2-3 minutes and the wrapper peels off easier. A simple fix. But these are my go to iron supplements and worth it.

A MUST after roux en y gastric bypass
I've had roux-en-y gastric bypass and I'm very anemic. My family doctor reassured me that taking any iron supplement would work. He was wrong. I went to a bariatric doctor next and he said to only use bariatric vitamins because they absorb better. (Do some research before you buy so you can verify this for yourself.) The grape chew is something I look forward to. It is a little tangy and the grape taste is very "grape-y". I DO feel that these are far too expensive and I also think they are taking advantage of the fact that these are made just for the bariatric crowd. We are a captive audience. I hope they start to go down in price at some point. The bottle is big and you get enough to take one chew (the recommended amount) for 60 days. If you take prescription medications or vitamins I recommend making sure when you should eat the chew so it doesn't reduce how well it works.) Dont take at the same time as calcium. The receptors that absorb the calcium are blocked by iron. I keep these at work so I can take a couple hours after calcium and prescription meds. Plus they are right in my face so I remember. Also, if you are losing hair you should research the amount of iron in your blood it takes to grow hair and stop shedding. Okay, love you. Bye. ๐
