Will my cat be able to use this to assist me?

Yes, but if your cat is anything like mine he won’t assist you but he might use it to annoy you. My cat likes to use it to pick up garbage from the street and put it into a bin then dump the bin in front of my walkway. So in theory he could assist you but my guess is that most cats won’t help unless the assistance you need is to help them get fed.

I believe this grabber is not chrome but some kind of steel. It is very sturdy and I use it often. You can't beat the pricing for what you get. It comes in handy a lot for me and it picks up almost everything imaginable. Well worth the price.

How hard is this to squeeze? I have wrist problems

Not hard, unless you're grabbing something too heavy. I have rheumatoid arthritis and there are no problems gripping with the tool.

This broke after third use. I need to find a durable, sturdy version of this grabber. Any specific product recommendations for better grabber?

The Grabber Reacher Rocks!

I love this tool, especially for picking up things that have rolled into corners and other hard to reach places. Also, my balance isn't what it used to be so it's preferable to use it to reach things on shelves rather than stand on a step stool. So convenient!
