Moleskine "Moleskine Classic Expanded Notebook, Soft Cover, Large (5"" x 8.25"") Ruled/Lined, Sapphire Blue, 400 Pages", red

I’ve bought a Moleskine Daily Planner, large, ruled, for many years from Amazon. But for 2026, I’m gonna try this similarly sized notebook. Here’s why: some days, I have more to write than a page allows, and other days, not as much as a page. The page-a-day Daily Planner doesn’t allow for that. By switching to an undated notebook, I can write as much I want on any given day, or as little as I want. All I’ll need to do is draw a line separating the daily entries and scribbling in the date. Moleskine are standard, the paper is just right, the soft cover has become my go-to due to weight and size. I keep my journal in a leather case I bought from Amazon, along with my iPad Mini, also from Amazon. It’s all I need at the coffee shop to express myself.

I’m in love with Moleskine notebooks! Durable, sturdy. Other brands have had the bookmark strings disconnect but not here. Same with the closing strap; I frequently leave my pencil in the book and close it up with the elastic and the bindings and strap are holding strong! Paper quality is top notch, feels comfortable to the touch and both pen and pencil write smoothly. I’ve not see any bleed-through and have used a variety of pens that would ordinarily bleed through.

I really like the thickness of this and the softness of it when I hold it in my hands. The calligraphy pen bleeds through a little, but I don’t mind that. I don’t like paper to be too heavy and thick. Although, in general I find Moleskin notebooks to be rough on paper and not smooth when I write. This gives the writing experience more friction and I get tired quicker. Despite that, I gave it five stars because it’s still a good notebook.

I just recently received this version. Though I love that it has 400 pages it seems like the paper is thinner than usual? I have the same version that’s not expanded and never had problems with my fountain pen bleeding through. But sadly with this version with the same pen there is a lot of bleed through😕 a bit bummed about it as my fountain pen is my favorite for journaling
