What is the difference between rcc7ak and ph100 other than difference in a pure to waste ratio and gpd capacity?

The reason I went with the RO100 (brother to the PH100, except doesn't have the Alkaline final filter) was the Dow Filmtec RO membrane. I have a friend who uses a high-end RO filter for his large aquarium. He recommended the Filmtec RO membrane (this is the same membrane he has) at a much lower cost than the high-end RO filters. The RCC7AK uses the iSpring RO membrane. While it might be just as good as the Filmtec, I'm going with the name brand reputable RO membrane for about the same price. The main difference between this (PH100/RO100) and the high end RO filter is the high-end filters use 1 micron carbon filters whereas the iSpring is a 5 micron carbon filter. My friends' need is to remove all chlorine from the aquarium water and you need the 1 micron filters to do that, per my friend... I'm super satisfied with the RO100.
