Comfy with Lots of Room
My wife has a lot of back problems, and her old office chair seemed to be exacerbating this condition. She works from home, so any chair she got would have to not just be comfortable when she first sits down, it has to remain comfortable throughout the day. We went on a quest looking for just the right replacement, and for a while it was a Goldie Locks experience: this chair's too hard, this chair's too soft... this chair's arms are too narrow... this chair's... you get the drift. Long story short, reviews led me to blindly order the same chair you're looking at now. I didn't know what to expect other than most reviewers raved about how comfortable it is and how much lumbar support it offers. Those were the main objectives, so I figured it was worth a shot--especially since it looks like we'll soon be paying more once tariffs hit, and this was on sale NOW. Within days of placing my order, I received a big, heavy box. I bring this up in case you're like me and you live in an apartment complex. Depending on your setup, you may have to lug this thing from the office to your unit. The box weighs roughly 40lbs, which isn't too bad, but it's big enough to be an awkward carry. Especially if you'll have stairs to fight, so please plan accordingly. But there's a reason for all that weight, as you'll soon find out when you open the box. The included instructions are easy to follow, and you'll have all the materials you need. Once done turning screws, you'll have a sturdy and well-padded place to rest. The seat has plenty of cushion--but the real star of the show is that lumbar pad. It's fixed in place, meaning you can't remove it, and at first you might find it a bit intrusive. Stick with it for a minute or two: most chairs have lousy back support, so having a chair with GOOD back support might feel strange to you at first. Very soon, though, I think you'll agree that pad's one of the best things to happen to office chairs since the invention of the home office. My own office chair is a Herman Miller which cost quite a bit more than this chair, and I'm jealous of this thing. The upholstery is pleather, so indeed you can expect it to start flaking off after a few years. That's just the nature of the beast here. That said, the stitching is good, and the padding is plentiful. The cost for what you're getting is far beyond reasonable. The overall build quality is what you would expect from a mid-tier chair; nothing about it feels "cheap." The arms fold up when you're done working for the day, so you can push it under your desk with ease. You have two adjustments: height, and whether or not you'd like to lock the chair into a rigid upright position or allow some tilt (there's also a tension knob underneath so you can adjust how much resistance the chair gives while leaning back). It's too soon to tell if this chair makes a difference to my wife's back, but I will say that out of everything we tried, she took to this one instantly. By all appearances, we're at the part where Goldie Locks finds a chair that's "just right." That's good enough for me! Highly recommended!

BUY this chair!!!!!
After using this chair for about a month, I can confidently say that it's one of the most comfortable office chairs I've sat in for an extended period of time. Being in school and studying 8+ hours a day at my desk would normally make my back hurt in any other chair. Fortunately, after using this chair all day I have very very minimal back pain, if any at all (definitely due to previous injuries). The cushion on the back of the chair is extremely supportive and comfortable over all. Cannot say enough good things about this chair!!!! Definitely worth the price and easy to put together.

The box is very heavy when it’s delivered.
This is really large comfortable office chair. It was fairly easy to put together. Just a note- the box is large and very heavy. We opened it out side and brought the pieces in. The material feels like leather and is a good quality, and the lumbar support is good. The arms go up for easy storage under my desk. The wheels run smoothly so far. When I adjust the height it is ok but could be taller. I am 5’6” tall and like to sit a bit higher, but this gets the job done comfortably. The seat is quite wide, so if you are a large person this would give you plenty of room. I think it’s worth the Prime Day price. The leather is a cream color, as pictured. I am happy and hope it lasts. I work from home 3 days a week, so I need a solid chair. This fits the bill.

Best Ergonomic Office Chair I've Found Under $200 – Perfect Lumbar Support for Tall Guys
After trying three different office chairs in the past few weeks (all in the budget-to-midrange category), this Amazon Basics Ergonomic Executive Office Desk Chair is hands-down the winner for me. I'm 6'0" and 205 lbs, and I've struggled for years to find a chair that truly supports my lower back without feeling rigid or forcing bad posture. What stands out most is the lumbar support. Unlike many chairs with hard, adjustable plastic lumbar pieces that dig in or miss the spot entirely, this one's fully cushioned, soft, and contoured—it molds naturally to your back. It's non-adjustable, but honestly, it doesn't need to be; the padding and shape hit my lumbar area perfectly right out of the box. No more lower back fatigue after hours of sitting. The seat cushioning is excellent too—thick, supportive, and level (no forward slope like some "ergonomic" chairs that push you forward uncomfortably). It encourages good posture without feeling restrictive, and the slight recline/rocking function is smooth and relaxing when I lean back. I've been using it for long work sessions (6+ hours), and it stays comfortable—no numbness or need to constantly shift. The flip-up armrests are a nice touch: they move smoothly, are well-padded, and stay out of the way when I want to scoot closer to the desk. The seat isn't overly wide (which I actually prefer over those broad, flat designs that force your arms to splay out awkwardly). It conforms nicely without feeling cramped, and the armrests align perfectly for relaxed typing or mouse use. For taller users like me, the backrest height comes up just past my shoulders—great for upright sitting or light reclining, but not designed for full lounging (which isn't what I wanted anyway). Some reviewers mention the seat feeling short or like you're on the edge, but that's only if you're slouching; sitting upright or rocking back, it feels spot-on and supportive. Assembly was straightforward overall, though attaching the backrest took a minute of fiddling. Tip: Loosen the armrest screws slightly for wiggle room, then lean the chair back to line up the holes—makes it much easier to get the bolts started (as shown in one of the product images). The base is a single solid piece (not individual legs to screw on), which feels noticeably sturdier and more premium than cheaper chairs with pieced-together bases. It arrived well-packaged with no damage. At this price point, the build quality, comfort, and thoughtful ergonomics punch way above most similarly priced options on Amazon. I've dealt with flimsy chairs that wobble or lose padding quickly—this one feels solid and reliable. Very happy with the purchase; it's exactly what I was searching for in an executive-style desk chair. Highly recommend if you're looking for real lumbar relief without spending a fortune.

Mostly comfortable but seems well made
Having had to sit in a chair (from a major manufacturer) that had its flaws but lasted about 6 years, this chair was a change for me. The biggest change was the lumbar support as I never had one before and I'm still getting used to it. As a reference, I am 6' tall and weigh about 200 pounds, so chair size was a concern for me when I did my shopping for a replacement. This chair seems a little small for a larger person BUT I sat in only one other chair for years so this may be an issue I just need to get used to. New shoes can feel odd at first too. I do agree the lumbar support seems to push a person forward and does somewhat restrict the length of the chair seat - about 3 inches of my legs, at my knees, do hang over without support but so far I have not experienced any discomfort. I have learned to sit flush against the seat back (VS slouching) which also maximizes use of the lumbar support which feels good but also odd as I never had the support before. Assembly was pretty easy - always a challenge to add the arms when doing it alone, but I managed. Everything else was VERY easy, and the instructions were helpful and provided enough information. The leather also seems of good quality but only time will tell. I do use the chair every day but never for more than about an hour at a time, but several times a day. The color is also nice - pleasant and nicer than bright white. I would suggest to Amazon however, that they increase the height of the seat back for us taller folk - right now it only comes to about my shoulders because I do not slouch, so resting my head against the back is impossible unless I slide my butt forward, which then offsets the use of the lumbar support. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase and have no regrets.

UPDATE: DEFECTIVE… it was a Great chair... a bit short for tall people!
I purchased this chair four years ago and really liked it. However, when it was damaged during a move, I attempted to replace it. Unfortunately, the replacement chair had a construction issue that had been repeatedly mentioned in numerous comments spanning over a year at least. This defect prevents the chair from being completely assembled, rendering it unusable (screw holes don’t line up). Amazon has failed to address this issue by removing these defective chairs from its inventory. You won’t be aware of this problem until you’ve almost completed assembling the chair. At that point, you’ll have to disassemble it, rebox it, and return the box to UPS. This is an incredibly inconvenient process, and Amazon must take immediate action to rectify this issue before anyone considers purchasing this chair again. Old review from 2023: Based on someone else's review, it would seem that this chair is perfect for average-height people but less great for those of us who are a bit tall or (according to her) a bit short. I'm 5'9 with most of my height in my legs. I like a chair to be tall enough that my legs can be straight to the floor from my knees to my feet and still have support under my knees. This chair is too short for that, even at it's highest setting, but it can be fixed with a simple replacement of the gas lift cylinder for a mere $20 (search for gas lift cylinder on Amazon). And the extra $20 is worth it because other than that one issue, this chair is great. My first experience with this chair was at work when the firm replaced all of our desk chairs. I loved it so much that I bought it for myself when I went into private practice. The lumbar support hits in just the right spot and moves with your body as you lean in and out. I love the cream color, and the seat is padded nicely. I especially love the liftable arms. I sit at my desk for 8+ hours straight 5-6 days a week, and I never have body pain-- Granted, I am only 36, but I have definitely experienced this with other office chairs that claimed to be "ergonomic". With a simple lift cylinder replacement and a movable standing desk (which I never actually stand at), I can finally sit at my desk without my knees hitting the underside of the desk or my legs having to be extended out to have support under my knees. These two things mean that I don't slump at my desk anymore, and my neck and back thank me! :)

Excellent
I recently purchased the Amazon Basics Ergonomic Executive Office Desk Chair for my home office, and after several weeks of use, I'm thoroughly impressed with its overall performance. Comfort and Ergonomics: One of the standout features of this chair is its excellent ergonomic design. The lumbar support is well-placed, and the seat cushion is firm yet comfortable, providing good support for long hours of sitting. The backrest contours nicely to my spine, which has greatly reduced the back pain I used to experience with my previous chair. The armrests are adjustable, which is a big plus, though I wish they had a bit more padding. Adjustability: The chair offers a high degree of adjustability, which is crucial for finding the perfect seating position. The seat height, armrests, tilt tension, and recline angle can all be adjusted easily. I particularly like the tilt mechanism, which allows for smooth reclining without feeling unstable. The seat depth is also adjustable, which helps in maintaining proper posture. Build Quality: The build quality is solid, with a sturdy metal base and smooth-rolling casters that work well on both carpet and hardwood floors. The chair feels durable and well-constructed, though I did notice a slight wobble in one of the armrests after a few weeks. It’s not a major issue, but something to be aware of. Design and Aesthetics: Visually, the chair is sleek and modern, fitting well into any office setting. It comes in a variety of colors, which is nice for matching with different decor styles. The materials used are of good quality, though the fabric could be a bit more breathable, especially in warmer climates. Value for Money: While the chair is on the pricier side, I believe it offers good value for the money. The comfort, adjustability, and build quality make it a worthwhile investment for anyone who spends a lot of time at their desk. There are cheaper options available, but this chair strikes a good balance between affordability and premium features. Overall: The Amazon Basics Ergonomic Executive Office Desk Chair is a fantastic choice for those in need of a comfortable and highly adjustable office chair. It has significantly improved my workday comfort, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their office seating. The minor issues are outweighed by the overall quality and functionality of the chair.

Good but not great. Limited adjustment
Chair looks great and is very comfortable and well made. I took stars off because a couple of issues that I can’t live with and will require me to buy another chair. The chair does not rise high enough. Unlike other office chairs, I feel like I’m a little kid at the adult table(I’m 5’10” male). The most annoying feature is the chair back angle isn’t adjustable so I’m always at a slight recline. I have to place a pillow behind me to look like I’m not falling asleep while on camera. Suprised there isn’t an adjustment for that. I would have discovered all of this if I was able to try it out before hand but the mass positive rating don’t mention these issues.

Me encanta!

Best chair ever!!
I don't even know where to start. This chair is so comfortable!!! The back and hip support is amazing. It's also very soft on the but. I can sit in this chair for hours and not get stiff. The casters and very strong and roll very easily. The tilt is flawless and I love the levers with cables on each side for the adjustments instead of having to reach underneath. I highly recommend this chair.

The low back may be a problem for some users
The chair is very well padded and comfortable and fairly straight forward to assemble. The low back too some getting used too. Since I prefer sitting more upright the inability to tilt the back doesn't bother me.
