Brought this for my son, who is a huge fan of Mario. We have all different games from Paper Mario to Super Smash Bros. But this one has really grabbed hold of him. He will sit there for hours and play on this game. Normally, I would be concerned but the aspect of him creating new levels from scratch and then sharing them online. That is part I love most about this game. You can create any kind of level in any Mario theme, from original NES Mario to Mario version on Wii U. You control every aspect of that level, from placement of block, coin, power-ups to enemy. The other aspect that I really like is that you can share this over the Nintendo universe. You can play levels others have created and other can play what you have created. Talk about collaboration on the gaming front for young kids and older kids too. Haha. In playing this game, I have found my son thinking outside the box. He is also playing other people’s level and grabbing ideas to mold it to what he wants to get done on one of his levels. Any game that encourages creative thinking and collaboration is a great tool. But that being said, I do find it hard to limit my son and occasionally myself on the game. Because it is so addictive. The only thing a physical copy does compared to a digital one is allows you to trade it in when you're done with it. That might be the case for a lot of games out there (like Metal Gear Solid), but I'm STILL not done with Mario 64, Mario Kart(s), I just played Super Mario World yesterday. All a physical copy does is give you a chance to scratch the disk. If you download a game even if the system gets damaged, you sign in with your Nintendo ID on the replacement system and get your game back. I haven't even looked at the book insert in a game in about 5 years.That said, 60 is a very fair price for this game. The original super mario brothers cost 50 when it came out, as did basically every other one of their games. I love the Wii U, some people say its lagging behind other systems, but only in quantity, not quality.
