Great taste
I grabbed a 12-pack of the zero sugar root beer in 12 fl oz cans and it’s become my go-to when I want a fizzy treat without the sugar crash. The flavor is surprisingly full and classic — it still has that sweet, creamy root beer taste even though it’s sugar-free, and the carbonation is just right. I like that the cans are the standard size, so they’re perfect for lunches, picnics, or just keeping in the fridge for whenever I want something refreshing. Sometimes zero-sugar drinks can have a weird aftertaste, but I didn’t really notice that with this one. For anyone who loves root beer but is cutting back on sugar, this is a solid, tasty option.

Full flavor
Great root beer taste and the carbonation doesn't fizzle out as fast as some other sodas.

The Best Tasting
I have tried every zero sugar root beer that’s out there and I have to say that this is my favorite by far. I’m not any other brands. Don’t give me wrong. I am not knocking him because all zero sugar root beers are good. But this is my favorite. And I will continue to keep it in my rotation. I love the taste of A&W root beer. It is the best.

Actually tastes like the original without the calories...
There happens to be a couple A&W stores in the SF Bay Area, so I've had canned and "fresh" (yes, I know it came out of dispensers and is made by mixing syrup and soda water), both diet and regular. And I try to save calories when I can. So yes, I actually like A&W's diet root beer. For those of you unfamiliar with root beer, the commercial version is non-alcoholic soft drink that has a distinctive "rooty" flavor, sweet, and carbonated. It is often confused with sarsaparilla, as root beer was first made from the sassafras tree, while sarsaparilla is made from the sarsaparilla vine. The two are NOT related. Modern root beer do NOT use sassafras tree bark as that was found out to cause health problems and was formally banned in 1960 by the FDA. Instead, the brewers use a wide variety of other ingredients (sometimes, even sarsaparilla) to achieve a similar taste profile. Indeed, each brewer would have their own recipe. I personally don't really care about this... I like the root beer taste, and this just lacks the calories like the regular version. And it's often available on sale.

Great soda
This tastes just like the original A&W. It has that classic creamy flavor without any weird aftertaste. I honestly cannot tell it is sugar free.

I found the perfect root beer soda
I was told by 2 different doctors low salt, low sugar (one even said no caffeine) Now where do you find a soda like that? A&W root beer that’s where and even with the dietary restrictions A&W root beer managed to keep their flavor. If you like root beer be it canned or bottled even travel pouches A&W has it covered what more can we soda junkies ask for? NOTHING!!!
