loved it. Very easy to use
Wow, loved it. Very easy to use, and quality is fantastic. I loaded 4 bikes (two adult two kids) , I think loading 5 would have been difficult but four fit great. It has a way to tighten the part that goes into the hitch by turning a knob, and that works great, as well as the safety pin. Although I have only used it once, it feels like it will not bend with the weight of 5 bikes. It is very heavy keep that in mind. Overall I greatly recommend it, worth the difference in price to cheaper products, and it should last a long time.

installed perfect. have to get the cross bars for the little bikes. I have four of them and at 40 bucks a bar it was hard but i bought them. This has no problem fitting adult bikes. It would be nice if this had some modification to fit smaller frames. Yakima may not have thought that or just was to milk buyers in getting more accessories. I have a SARIS three bike rack for the truck and the arms adjust where I can get the little frames on it. And that was under a hundred dollars. But I am sure this rack will stand the test of time. I just was disappointed I could not test it out once I got it installed. I have to wait a de more days for the crossbars to come. I will post an update once I get it all situated. Otherwise this is a solid construction. Just as the videos say out of the box and onto my 2in hitch. If you have the smaller size you have to make minor adjustment. first. It confused me at first when I took it out of the box and it did not fit. My stupidity was kicking in full speed. After you put it and the pin both are very loose. But as you turn the large red knob in the front it tightens lightly. After I locked it it was really snug. I also bought the cable lock which has not arrived yet. Wish that was incorporated too. Another expense Yakima makes buyers get. So two things- the crossbar and cable lock are extra purchases. If you have small frames expect to spend more for the cross bars. And if you want to be able to secure the bikes as a theft deterrent that you also need to purchase a cable lock.

Great rack so far
We used it for the first time today on my 2021 Subaru Outback with 2" hitch. Getting the rack on/off the car is pretty easy. Getting our bikes on (only 3 today) was a bit tricky. My youngest (8) bike just barely squeezed on. I'm going to have to get a cross bar for that bike as well I guess. Overall the rack seems sturdy and held the bikes in place for our short trip. Its also light enough to carry in/out of the garage when I want to use it.

Bike rack flops like a fish out of water when fully loaded
Lol, this thing sucks! Just got back from a cross country trip. Loading 5 bikes takes a master at Tetris or puzzles. Luckily I am both! Once loaded, it bounces like crazy! The rack bent back about 10 degrees the first time it was loaded. 2 full sized aluminium mountain bikes, 1 24" aluminium mountain bike and 2 steel 20" bmx bikes. It did make the round trip BUT the bouncing was so bad that not one driver would come within 100 feet of us from the back (3600 mile round trip)(perfect if you dont like people tailgating you or you want to drag your bikes down the interstate or both). I was waiting every second of the trip for the fold pin to fail. Got home and put it up for good. Might use it for maybe a 2 bike rack....or mount it in the rec room for a gun rack. This thing flops like a fish out of water when fully loaded. See the pics of the poor guy that had his break. Thats exactly what i was waiting for mine to do. Piss poor design. Also bikes rubbed together and wore the paint off in several places. Perfect if you dont like to ride but dont want to look like a poser!

Bit pricey but well built
So far I'm happy with this bike rack. Install was easy & quick. Fast delivery! I'm not cool with the low quality graphic stickers though. Before I even pulled out of box all the stickers were completely peeling off👎🏻. I got the 5 bike rack so I really hope it holds up. I'll be back with more on my review a bit later after a couple of test runs

A sleek and sturdy bike rack.
I'm an avid cyclist and bring my bike everywhere. My wife and children also ride with me on the weekends. So I have a lot of bicycle riders in my family and need to carry at least 4 bikes. Placing 3 bikes on this rack is easy. When it comes to 4 bikes or more, there is some serious manipulation of the bike orientation to make it work. Sometimes a pedal will have to be inserted between the wheel spokes and your bikes can easily be scratched. That's the reason for the 4 stars. Otherwise, it looks sleek and the installation onto the trailer hitch is as simple as inserting it into hitch and turning the red knob at the bottom. It also comes with a lock built into the knob so no one can steal the rack. The bicycle lock comes separately and I would strongly recommend that you buy it. The Yakima logo is a sticker and I noticed that it began peeling. But that's just a cosmetic issue. It's solid and sturdy enough to carry 5 dirt bikes.

Solid and dependable
We bought the 5-bike version over the 4 since we figured the extra length of the arms would better accommodate our 4 bikes without them needing to be manhandled so much. It was a wise decision. The rack is heavy, but then it is designed to hold perhaps upwards of 100lbs of expensive bikes securely, over bumpy roads, without failing. I do sorta wish that hitch end could be purchased for Class 2 hitches only instead of one that internally spreads to engage a variety of hitch sizes. But it works, and it stays secure after a long drive. The lock itself is pretty lame, but you can provide enough leverage to securely screw the spreaders to keep the rack firmly attached to the hitch socket. Stealing the rack with attached (and presumably tethered/locked) bikes would be quite the effort. The straps that hold the bikes down work well and adjust pretty effectively. I do wish the level at the top to allow the rack to fold were something a little more sturdy. The plastic feels like it will give (although it hasn't). The decal on the main column promptly shed. Overall, I'm really happy with the rack and glad we got the 5-bike version. We use it primarily on a Tesla Model Y, and don't really have issues mounting or unmounting the rack. It does have a noticeable impact on range at highway speeds. We also use it on a Honda Odyssey where it sits in a shadow aerodynamically. Both hitches are class 2.

Very nice bike rack for 5 bikes.
After our Trek hitch started to fall apart (10+ years use) and we needed a larger rack for a 5th bike, we did a little research and found this one. Fitting 5 bikes on is a tight squeeze but you can do it. Usually we aren't carrying more than 4 so loading the bikes isn't an exercise in physics. Fits easily into the hitch and tightens and locks quickly. Keeps the bikes from hitting each other and seems stable even fully loaded. If you need a carrier for 5 bikes, this is probably a good choice as there are only a few out there that can accomodate that many at this price point. If we have any more, we'll have to look into trailers.

Best bike rack system! Wouldn't buy anything else.
One of the best bike rack systems I have ever seen and used. Super easy to use and very secure! Definitely worth the price. You pay for what you get in this hitch rack system.

Great bike rack!
Great quality and easy to use. It’s a 5 bike rack, I’d say it fits 4 easily, 5 is an extremely tight squeeze.
