Master Magnetics Strong Magnet with Ergonomic Handle - 100 lb Pull Force, Red, 07501

I bought this to hold thin metal against a belt sander. Mission accomplished. I made a dagger and used this magnet to hold the parts while I sanded them, without worrying about losing fingers. The magnets a plenty strong enough to hold the part solid against the moving belt. The handle has a nice grip, easy to hold. It was a pleasant surprise to see the two plastic parts that cover the magnets themselves and keep things from accidentally jumping onto the magnets. This magnet is a staple in my workshop now.

Nice. I didn’t really know what it was when I ordered it. It is nice. Has 2 relatively strong magnets built into bottom & handle helps to lift or carry what you are picking up.

I originally posted a review on first impressions without proper use, so I am fixing that. Its a good magnet. The handle fits my medium size man hands great. Has to get within a couple inches for it to grab on to anything, but is still strong. I originally rated this a 3 star and gave it a semi good review based on "It could no way pick up 100lbs" like many other ppl here without trying. But the thing is not many ppl have a piece of 100lb metal laying around. Today at work I used it on a metal roller that weighed about 20lbs+ and swung it back and forth like a picnic basket with not problem, while I walked and it stayed solidly held on. Yes you can easily get it off something by twisting the handle to break the contact, but pulling perpendicular to a clean metal surface I would say there is a chance of it holding 100lbs. I will have opportunities to use it on heavier pieces of steel plate and such and will update when I do.

Strong magnet, easy to hold and move around using its handle. I use it to quickly erase old video tapes, and it works great. Reasonably priced.

Works good for knife making but be careful because it's plastic after all and will melt if it gets too hot. It's strong for sure I have no doubt I could use it for panels or something. Super easy to clean shavings off if you just use a wire brush.

This magnet barely holds 25 pounds of steel with the magnet placed solidly on the metal and in absolute center. I purchased this magnet primarily to pick up screws and nails, and for that it is very useful and perfect with the ergonomic grip. So I’ll keep it for this purpose at this price point. However, I find it relevant to test It’s advertised capacity of 100 pounds and found that it falls extremely short. It arrived in a box loosely bouncing around because it had popped out of its packaging, which was a clear plastic shell that does not seal well. I only mentioned that because if you purchase more than one thing, it may be loose in the box and it may be of concern because it is still a magnet, even though it has the shields on it. I’m open to the possibility I may have received a weaker magnet, and this may be a quality control issue. I have used magnets in the past that are small, but very powerful. I would not describe this as one of those.

A useful cleanup and tidy tool in the shop when working with small matallic parts. Also good for making a zapper, if you know what I'm talking about. Works as intended.

Works exactly like I wanted it to. I’m using it to hold steel on my belt grinder and it’s nice and secure. Comfortable grip and good strength. Not sure if I’d try picking up 100lbs with it. But overall I like it
