I have updated the review as of 11/13/23, to reflect my complete satisfaction with this product as well as admiration of the vendor's customer service. I was contacted by the vendor after my review posted and they offered to send me a replacement, which I gratefully accepted. On testing, the product performs very well on my home network and was trouble-free to plug in and start to use. Easy to recommend this product now that I have been able to use and test it. For its price, it is a great deal and performs very nicely. RECOMMENDED! My initial review of this product was "This is a very fragile product. Likely would have been able to test it if I could plug it in while in a straight-on orientation, but my application required the antenna to articulate to 90 deg. The antenna dislocated from the hinge and then the antenna wire broke before I could get it reassembled. Disappointing. Great price though - would like to see if it actually works.

The Good. The drivers are 'in the Kernel' so there is nothing to install...it is Linux plug and play. The adapter *worked* with Mint 20.3 and Linux Lite 6.2 with current Kernels. And it *worked* with most install ISO's too. Those were Zorin 16.2, Backbox 8, Mint 21.1, MX-Linux 21.3. It did *NOT* work with the Kali 22.04. The adapter has a nice activity indicator too. The NOT so good. The adapter is one piece. That makes a bit difficult to store if you intend to put it in your computer bag. Nor does the antenna swivel. The antenna goes straight out or straight up only. The adapter is not fast. The best I could get out of it was 50 Mbps and that was occasionally. My Ethernet at home does about 450+Mbps, this does 50. A Macdonald Wi-Fi near here does 100+Mbps. This does 50, maybe. A gas station close by does 90Mbps on my laptop, this does 50, maybe. Bottom line. It works with Linux for the most part, it is a 'steady Eddie'. I will keep it. It is apparently no trouble. The adapter cost me $7. I bought two, will send one back.

Great Wi-Fi adapter for remote computers

Sometimes i use linux on my pc and my tp-link adapter is not compatible so i needed a new one. When i got this and plugged it in, it works instantly with no drivers on ubuntu 22.04. I nowd use ethernet but if i need wifi for any reason, this will work. Sometimes it loses signal for some reason but most of the time, it gets the job done. It's not the fastest but it's usable.

Bought this for my mom's computer. It didn't have a strong wifi signal. It works great! She plugged it in and now she has great wifi and it picks it up the signal from upstairs.

It works

Worked well in public place that had "low speed" wifi and router was far from me. Prior to using the antenna my internet constantly dropped. I've used it several times at the same place and haven't had any interruptions on my laptop!
