I tend to bob forward and/or try to side sleep.** A: You can use this travel pillow if you tuck the bolsters under you chin - as much as you are able - so the head is supported when it nods forward. You can use the eye mask with its elastic wrapped around the pillow to keep it in this position. I have tried it and it works pretty well - both if the head falls to the side or nods forward. **Q: Does it fit for 10 year old kid?** A: I think it would. If the space between the bolsters it too wide just twist the fabric and it will be snugger. We also have a new pillow with a different design that gives you a more snug fit and your son may prefer this - it is called SkySiesta SNUG - also available on Amazon. So yes, it would certainly fit inside a standard carry-on - unless the carry-on is very full. In that case the pillow, packed in its nylon bag, can be strapped outside to the handle.
