Amazing product. Beat out the non-functioning OEM!
Ok, Lots of people have reviewed this product, and there are some good, some bad. I have nothing but good things to say about it. I own a Kenmore Elite 76150 15 100 BTU 115V Window-Mounted Room Air Conditioner. This thing is a beast of an AC wall mount. The OEM remote was iffy from the get-go, then stopped working altogether. Had to walk up to the unit and manually set it to what I needed it at. When I found this remote on Amazon, I thought I'd give it a try. Price was good, claims to work with any and all models listed on the pamphlet. I did the programming with the initial 4 digit code, no luck. I did the manual approach and successfully turned off my appliance, but the code still didn't work. Tried 3, 4, 5 times. Then I thought about trying something different. At the end of the manual process, you are pressing "1". I thought to myself that this could be the "1" at the beginning of my code already, so instead of typing in 4 digits, I may be typing in 5 digits by mistake, throwing off the programming. I entered the remaining 3 digits, and BAAM! It worked. This thing works from afar, does ALL of the functions that my OEM remote did, and does NOT have to be within line of sight (but you might have to if you want to see the screen :) ). Anyhow, this remote did the job, I got full wireless freedom with my AC again, and I have nothing but praise to say about this product.

Does wierd things with Artic King
The code did work (Both did) but the buttons don't match the function label (example, "Sleep" triggered "Energy Saver" It also changed my display from F to C, and won't change it back with the standard commands in the manual. About all this is good for is if you want to turn off your AC (but not back on! power button only turns it off, it beeps, but doesn't turn back on with power button) or don't mind trying to play rullete with the buttons to find the button you /really/ wanted.

Will work in a pinch.
I misplaced the remote for my Kenmore (rebranded Frigidaire) window air conditioner and was using the control panel to operate. I saw this while browsing and looked like a solution to my problem. While my order was shipping my family found the Kenmore remote. It took a few minutes to program the AnyCommand remote for the Kenmore using the enclosed remote codes for Firgidaire (the Kenmore code didn't work). AnyCommand would turn the air conditioner on and adjust temp and fan speed, but was missing some features on the OEM remote. Also I noticed some functions on the AnyCommand did not match the function of the air conditioner, so you would have to remember which remote button and disregard the function lable on the remote. I also have an Arctic King air conditioner. It took a little longer to program the AnyCommand since the code provided didnt work and had to do a code search. AnyCommand would do the basic functions but missing some of the OEM functions. Since I have an OEM remote for both air conditioners, the AnyCommand will go into a drawer and wont be used again unless one of the OEM's quit working.

Works with my Frigidaire FRA054XT7; Recommend
The AnyCommand is a good remote control for common a/c window unit models. Great Aspects: The remote is very easy to program. The package comes with a list of four-digit codes for various A/C manufacturers. Find your manufacturer's code, press and hold the setup button on the remote until the red light becomes solid, enter the manufacturer code on the remote, and you should be good to go. The whole process took about 30 seconds with my Frigidaire FRA054XT7. All of the functions on my A/C that are also available on the remote work like they're supposed to. The buttons are very responsive on the remote - no having to repeatedly press a button to get the command to register. Downside: The remote needs a clear line-of-sight to the sensor on the A/C unit in order for your commands to register. Also, the battery in the remote can become unseated during shipping; it's not a big problem, just make sure you reseat the battery before trying to program the remote. Summary: The quality-build of the remote is decent, notwithstanding the fact that the remote needs a clear line-of-sight to send the signal, and its claims of being nearly universal appear to be true.

This little remote saved my life in the heat
It is not every day that a $10 product can change your life, but this one did. I live in an old building with 11 foot ceilings, and the main cooling comes from an old Amana air conditioner that is installed in the wall at ceiling height, and the remote is long gone. Add to this that I am an amputee who works most of his day in a wheelchair and lives in far south Florida and you can see that I really needed a way to control the air conditioner. i can't climb a ladder to adjust the thing and the only way to turn the thing on and off was to hit a breaker at a lower level. This caused the air conditioner's reset button to pop off regularly, leaving me with no cooling. That reset button was, you guessed it, at ceiling level. So I took a chance on this little gem because it was in stock and all the others would have taken almost a month to get. It was here in a couple of days. I opened the package, pulled the plastic tab to activate the supplied battery per the instructions (its a CR-2032 flat battery, they are everywhere), found the 4-digit code for Amana and entered it in the simplest process I've ever gone through. It worked properly on the first attempt and I was able to turn my air conditioner on and off, and adjust the temperature. The instructions indicated it could do more things, but I didn't bother because all I wanted to do was those two functions, and I can't really get up there to see what else the air conditioner does. The only criticism I have of the unit is that it is tiny and prone to getting lost. Pick a place for it and leave it there. Better yet, buy two and keep one handy for when your first one gets lost. I give this one two thumbs up.

Remote is garbage
I bought two of these, for two separate units, since one of my original remotes wasn't working correctly anymore. The remote is supposed to work with a Commercial Cool window unit AC. I followed the very simple instructions included. The 3 codes provided for setup didn't work so I inputted the manual search. It connected to the AC but the only thing it did was change the unit setting from Farenheight to Celsius with no way to change it back. (There's no setting button for that on the remote, or instructions on what to do if there's an issue.) It would only power back on if I hit the timer button and wouldn't change any of the other settings. I called the phone number on the instruction sheet and, as usual, ended up speaking to someone in India that didn't have a clue how to help with the issue unless I could give them the name, birth weight, and zodiac sign of my firstborn child. Since my window unit isn't new, I no longer have the paperwork on it, and the person from India wanted information on the AC that isn't on the unit itself. I explained that to her and we went in circles with no resolution. Outcome: I now have a handwritten Celsius to Fahrenheit conversion chart just so I can manually set my AC temperature, no working remote, and I'm out the cost of two useless pieces of plastic.

Supports 50 different A/C vendors - well made
Delighted !! This year my 2010 Window A/C Remote didn't work. Opening it, I found SO much battery corrosion that I didn't even want to try cleaning it. (OK instructions say you should remove over winter which I never did...) I contacted the company for a replacement remote and "no longer available"... but they had a replacement one. Fine. Within a week, they say, "no longer available". Oh no! You see, the power on/off button never worked on this unit itself, so the remote was necessary. Now what?!! Fortunately, I found this Universal one on Amazon and it works Perfectly! I was so relieved. This remote comes with a list of about 50 different A/C vendors and gives a code to enter for each in the remote's initial setup process. So easy. ALL the buttons work as expected. And it's a nicely made little unit. Not cheesy at all, though very lightweight. ~3.5"x1.5" Buttons are nice size. Labels are very clear. And it runs on 1 large button battery (CR2032) which seem less likely to leak. Highly recommend.
