Super sturdy and reliable lock. The letters are imprinted into the metal wheels and colored with black paint. I love that there is a small reset key to these Master locks. It prevents malicious users from changing the combination if they stumble across an open lock. The only oddity of this lock is that once the correct combination is set you have to push down on the lock and it will spring open. Even with the correct combination pulling on the lock will not open.

These are great locks. I have bought 2. So much easier to remember a word that you select, rather than a number. And so much easier than the frustrating number dial locks. Easy on, easy off, and strong.

I've been using these locks for about 10 years now. I have many and the combination is easy to change whenever someone reveals the combination by not rotating the dials after opening them. I kept loosing keys or trying to figure out which key fits which lock. This solved that problem. I do change the combination about once a year, keeps my wife on her toes ;-)

The lock works great and easy. It is good size and seems very strong.

Really well-made and sturdy lock. My only gripe is that the letters are a bit small, so hard to read for someone like me who is getting a bit farsighted.

I bought this product because it was rated for outdoors and we have several parties that use it on a community gate, so having keys is an issue. The dials are small, requiring using a fingernail to rotate them. Since they are small, it is hard to see the letters for anyone who may need reading glasses. The dials get frozen in cold & damp weather, no better than the cheaper indoor rated locks. The shackle does not want to latch closed often times, requiring fidgeting with each dial to get it locked. Yes, I scramble the combination prior to closing, as the instructions state. Not worth the money I paid.

Good padlock, easy to use, set up easy. Using it on the garden shed, sprayed all moving parts with silicone and no problems after 6 months.

If you are looking for a simple combination lock, this isn’t it. It allows for a variety of letters and number for a 4 character code but when turning the combination the letters/number are NOT in order. For example the letter A maybe followed by the letter G or some other letter. Its not a quick and easy lock to undo. It is a very sturdy lock.

Easy to set the combination and opens and closes very nice. Did not realize it was letters instead of numbers. I have use the brass ones in the past, this one has a coating on it, not sure if it’s brass, does not matter to me. Some of the letters in some of the locks are hard to read, a little mangled.
