The other body pillows I tried were heavy and ate up a lot of real estate in the bed - I felt trapped by their size. The microbead pillow didn't feel overwhelming to me. I do wish it was just a bit more squishy and not quite as firm, or was smaller in diameter - but that's a personal choice, so I didn't deduct a star for that. I'm hoping in time it'll flattened somewhat and at that point it'll be perfect for me. I think as is, it's a perfect firmness/size for larger framed people.I have a very sensitive nose and there was just a slight chemical smell when I took it out of its zippered packaging, but that disapated within a few hours after I laid it on top of my bed to air out.
