Got these to De-horn goats, works pretty good.
So we were going to leave the horns on our goats mainly because any way I had previously known of was just far too messy/traumatic for all involved. Then we started having head stuck and a bit too feisty issues so I started looking up alternatives and came across some videos on Youtube that showed how banding the horns could work and I figured it was worth a try. -So they suggested these over other kinds because they are flat and won't roll. While they are “less” likely to roll where you don’t want them they may still a bit when you try and get them off the bander. -You are able to use these with a standard size bander. I mean we priced a bigger one and if you were going to try this with either large (not pygmy goats) you may need the bigger bander. -So far it is working very well. We have had to replace a few on one stubborn buck as he kept rubbing his horns on things and snapped a few. I know technically that's not what these are for but it is so much better than the alternative. And if you get them on the little nubs as soon as they are up enough it only took a few weeks and it popped right off.

Didn't break
Bought these to band adult goat horns. It worked. They didn't bust like others have mentioned. They were good quality.

They break
They worked on our standard 4 prong bander (got them to work that way) but if you put them on the big 3 prong pictured on the package they break every time and when they break you get pinched I gave up after the 2nd time having my epidermis between the handles. Just very fortunate I was dressed at the time I might’ve got something else in there, would’ve probably completely lopped it off. Definitely cheaper than going to the Dr to get snipped. Being post procedure I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND when they cinched down my head went through the roof of the rv I’m unsure if my defecation happened on the way up or down evidently I hit the ground running I exited the rv evidently without properly opening the door it is yet to be found I came to my senses 2 county’s away somehow wrapped in a farmers shocking barbed wire. Why would you use barbed wire for a shock fence anyway?

Work great for goat horns!
They work great! I used them to dehorn Nigerian dwarf goats. Not one broken band. They did not slip like the round ones.

Bad bands??
I bought the tool and the bands from Amazon. When I put the band on the tool and open the tool the band breaks. They almost look dry rotted. UPDATE: I went to a local store and bought some new bands. They work fine with the tool that I got from Amazon so the bands that I bought from Amazon must have been bad.
