Not has hard to change the joy con shell as the other reviews make it seem. I recommend watching a YouTube tutorial before you buy them though.

They weren’t intact, the package came in parts with a tool a kit will be sending back asap

These were the product upgrade to the standard case. My daughter dropped her switch and damaged the case. The kit includes the screws and springs needed to complete replace the case

I have to say I did expect a little more out of this product however I cant say I'm especially disappointed. My unit didn't come with the extra buttons and triggers as shown in the listing however it was an amazon warehouse product so I cant complain too much. I would expect all the items would be included were the product bought new. The included screwdriver is pretty nice and definitely adds to the value of the kit, my only gripe with it is that it's not magnetic which is annoying when working with such tiny screws so I kept a magnetic one beside me to fish out the little screws. For some good points, the colour is rich and deep and looks stunning which is the main reason I have no real complaints. The 'soft touch' finish is advertised all over the product page however in person it doesn't do a whole lot and doesn't give the shells anymore of a premium feel over the original so you're essentially buying just the colour which is fine but the advertising is maybe a little misleading. Another point about the finish is that its a bit more of a grease magnet which is something to keep in mind if kids will be handling the console. Installation was fine, no harder than you'd expect from something like this and it took me around an hour to do the pair. My overall take away is these are a great option if your shells are a little worn down or you'd just like to personalise the switch.

Very nice colour and feel but be warned that at least on this specific colour, the paint is peeling off after only about 6-8months.

All in all these replacement Joycon shells are an excellent product. They fit and function exactly the same as the OEM shell, or close to the point where I can’t tell any difference even with a thorough examination. A decent, for an included add on, screwdriver comes with the kit. I used it and found it to be adequate for the task. The shells are painted with a soft touch material over the molded plastic. The paint gives them a comfortable hand feel, and seems to offer a more secure grip on the Joycons. There were no sharp edges to the pieces, and everything fit together properly with no misaligned parts at all. There are only two flaws worth mentioning. One is a blemish on the back of the left controller. It is a small bump on the back similar to a pimple. I can feel it when I play but not intrusively so. The other is these are painted and unlike the plastic being dyed throughout, these will eventually wear. Everything that was needed for the swap was included. Obviously this product is a replacement shell and donor Joycons will be needed. The installation process was moderately challenging. Due the the nature of the Joycon functionality the internal hardware is very small, delicate, and tightly packed inside. A steady hand, instructions, and above all patience is needed for the swap. It took me about an hour and a half to complete the changeover and that included replacing a drifting analog stick. I would recommend and buy these shells again.

These would be wonderful if any of the plastic shell is broken on your joy cons. The quality and value for not having to fully replace the joy con is well worth the effort put in on assembly. I don’t know if this was an accident or how they come, but I did not get any instructions with mine and we had to reference the picture of the product a lot. I thought this was an easy switch out the plastic kind of a thing, I was wrong. I don’t recommend this unless your controller is truly broken, I could not do this by myself I asked a family member to help me. My brother has a background repairing cars and welding he ended up setting this up for me. We only did one controller as it was too far gone to reassemble, this took about an hour and a half, many of the microscopic screws are lost forever. The product is very high quality it feels and functions exactly like original controllers. The color is exactly as what the picture shows, very vibrant and solid. With all that being said I love the way it looks and functions I can’t tell it apart from the originals, color aside of course.

As for the actual product, all i can say is they are amazing, perfect fit, everything is accurate and they even come with replacement buttons to boot. However i do not like the fact that they are painted, that lets me know that the color and beauty of these is temporary at best. But aside from all that, they look beautiful, and have perfect fit, form, and function. I used these in a full overhaul of the set of joycons that came with my switch. I replaced button ribbons and analog sticks along with the casings. The advertisement says set aside about 3 hours to make it happen. That was very accurate, took me about 2 hours 40 minutes to complete, i would consider myself advanced in electronic repair. This is really NOT for somebody who is not already skilled. Sure its doable with no experience but you're gonna have a very bad time. Requires a very patient, steady hand since everything is so small. Theres ALOT going on inside of these and the right side joycon is much harder to do than the left. However if you know what youre doing and have the time, these are definitely worth a go. You should have some junk joycons on hand in case one of the ribbon cables or some small part gets ripped or broken. Its very easy and very possible to damage your controllers in the process.

Produkt ist qualitativ sehr gut auch die Teile die dabei sind das Lila ist zwar etwas dunkler als auf den Bildern aber ich war aber trotzdem zufrieden.Dabei war auch Schrauben ziehen mit zwei bits und alle Teile die man brauchen kann,auch paar zuviele was sehr gut war.Es wäre aber gut eine etwas ausführlichere Anleitung zu haben.

I got the purple shells for my joycons. - Perfect fit. - Extremely easy to install. - Colours matched the picture. - The shells feel great. Good quality, doesn't feel cheap at all. - They look fantastic too and are exactly what I've wanted for my switch since I got it. Notes: - I can't speak for the quality of the buttons. I did not use the ones it came with, I kept my old ones and just used the shells. - I also can't speak to the quality of the tools provided. I bought a repair kit at the same time to fix my joycon drift (figuring I might as well finally reshell them if I was cracking one open anyway) and I used the tools in that kit instead.
