Great product. I have several fire starter kits I have put together for different packs. This fire starter will go out in the wilderness with me each time. The only concern I had was that the end with tinder was extremely hard to pull on the cord. The good is that it throws concentrated sparks to the end of the rod which makes starting your tender much easier. Little on the pricey side but it's a unique product that works well. If you spend any time in the woods I would suggest making this an essential part of your fire kit.

This is the firestarter to end all firestarters. So easy to use, anyone can use it. I plan to give it to my wife to use since she has trouble with regular firesteels. Shipping is amazingly fast and product is high quality and works very well. Very pricey but this is definitely a great product.

Importing this to Canada cost $115.00 CAD with conversion, plus $15.00 CAD at the border for duties and taxes ($130.00 CAD total). With removal of the rubber stopper in the cap and "pull cap" (which I found very tight with the stock tinder), it now holds 15 tinder-quicks. Warning: The bungee connectors on mine were "single knotted" at the striker and inside the cap on delivery. One of the knots let go "surprisingly" (the cap knot) after a few tugs on the bungee. I suggest replacement of the bungee (because it seemed short) and re-tying the knots in the cap and at the striker so they will not let go. Overall, this seems like a very nice ferro device. It keeps all pieces together (rod, tinder, striker) and does direct the sparks better. The striker stop is also useful when I use it to start my stove.

A bit pricey and a little overkill but a cool and novel firestarter if you have a few extra bucks to spare. If you are a serious Bushcrafter and prefer not to carry lighters or matches, or if you have another need for a spark striker this is a serious and excellent quality striker.

Shipped and arrived as expected, works as advertised! Excellent build quality. Perfect size, effective and easy to pack. I love how all components store into itself, no dangling bits when not in use.
