Intex Above Ground Plunger Valves with Gaskets & Nuts Replacement Part (2 Pack)

I love them! I replaced old valves that you had to push and pull a handle to open and close. They were getting old and hard to manipulate. These were great replacements. Twisting the end to open and close is so much easier. They fit perfect and after using them for months they don't leak. Use these rather than the ones you have to push and pull that handle. Thank me later. Update May 2019: The original two plunger valves are still working great. Bought two more. Unfortunately, one of the new ones was leaking. Not from anywhere there are threads. It was leaking out of the plunger handle that you twist. I took the whole thing apart and replaced one of the two O rings inside the plunger with a slightly thicker O ring. Twisting the plunger is a little stiffer now, but no leak. I may go ahead and apply this fix to all my plunger valves even though none of the others is leaking as I like the stiffness when turning it and it allows me to only partially open a plunger to restrict water flow should I desire. My current pump is so powerful that if I attempt to restrict water flow then the plunger just snaps all the way open. Replacing the O ring may help with this. (Don't ask me why I need to do this. I just do.) Three out of four worked fine. I think the issue with the fourth was a fluke and I was able to fix it so I won't drop a star. These are still way better than the type you have to push and pull.

This has made it super easy to isolate my pump so I could clean the screen without losing prime. Would definitely buy again if needed

First time owning a pool and learning as I go. These work great to isolate the filter system in order to service the system or clean the basket.quality is great and I did a lot of research before buying.

Stopped the old leak they work

These made my setup for my soft sided above ground pool perfect. They connected easily to my existing filter and pump connections and provide a way for me to isolate out my pool from the equipment for maintenance. Pros: threaded connections fit right into the existing skimmer and return ports, the twist shut offs make closing and opening super simple. Helps when I want to shut off and backwash the filter. Cons: mild one obviously but I wish they had a brace or bracket that helped to alleviate strain on the side walls of the pool. I imagine this won’t cause too much of an issue but that’s my only thing.

We went DIY style and had our deck built around an Intex 14' pool. We upgraded to Intex's salt water system and Hayward's skimmer. We cover it during the Winter and needed an easy way to close the valves for winterization. These are perfect! We installed one at the pool's return. Due to design of these plunger valves, we had to install the other just before the water goes in to the little skimmer basket in the saltwater/filter system. This also allows for easy draining of the system and cleaning of that skimmer when it collects debris during the Summer season. A must have!

I was very hesitant to buy these. I have the intex 15 ultra frame which came with the little filter and smaller hoses and fittings. So like everyone suggested I upgraded the filter to the intex 2500gph pump. Only problem I had with that is the hoses are so much bigger and don’t fit on the fittings on the pool. I YouTubed some solutions and found some parts at the hardware store. I probably should have just bought the 1.5 to 1.25 hose adapters. Despite the size saying 1.5 they fit the hoses that come with the 2500gph pump. Now my hardware fittings say that it’s a 2in that fit that hose so who knows what the actual measurement is. Anyways I decided to buy the plungers to make it easier to cut off the water so I could attach the vacuum. Here again I was faced with the question is it going to fit those hoses. So are the hoses 2 inch or 1.5 inch??? I know it’s not going to fit on my pool fittings since they are smaller. Well sure enough the side with the gray screw on piece fits perfectly on the treads on the pool pump. That hose that came with the 2500gph pump also fits the plungers. Where that black o ring is kinda a tight fit but trust me it will slide in the hose and use the gray threaded part to secure. Now I attached directly to the pump which is not the recommended spot. You can attach the plungers to the pool wall but in my case then I would have needed those 1.5 to 1.25 hose adapters. Sure wish Intex provided instructions and what parts would be needed when upgrading the pumps on the smaller pools. Just hoping I can save some people time and frustration.
