Long ago, I reckoned that as a guy I was perhaps mixing less than many women. Two teaspoons of clay to two teaspoons of *liquid covers my face perfectly, beard or no beard. 
*I use undiluted apple cider vinegar – not a recommendation – but my face suffers no adverse reaction.

When you use any tightening ingredient...always lie down and let it dry.  Let gravity assist !  Don't walk around with it drying and pulling your face down.  Lay down, relax and let the ingredient, the clay, tighten and lift naturally.  You don't need it around the eyes...it's too strong.  Better use a little egg white around the eyes.  And immediately after rinsing in warm water...use Ice Cold water to tighten all the pores and seal the treatment.  Then by all means finish with a good moisturizer...Cell Food is perfect after this clay.  And also organic sesame oil...it's pure and has been used for centuries to moisturize and nourish freshly cleaned skin.  Be careful not to use any moisturizer with mineral oil as this is what fills your pores and hardens and clogs and enlarges them!   Always keep a smile on your face when doing any mask...allowing the natural lift of your own structure.  I am 62 and my skin is as lovely as in my 30's.  God Bless !
