(the PC is hooked up to my HDTV and home theater.) so w/ the rectangular slider plugged into the end of this extension, i can see what appears to be going on w/ the computer. **Q: Can you use this on Mac without the software?** A: USB drive are universal. I looked at this one, and I liked its affordability, however I was almost scared off by the bad reviews, especially the ones about it not working with Windows 10, which is what I have. But, after I got it, I popped it into my laptop, it set up automatically, and I immediately started transferring my MANY music files to it. It took less than 20 minutes. I then took it out and popped it into my desktop, and immediately was able to put my music on said desktop.
