I first scrubbed the shower floor with Comet and a scrub brush and rinsed it very well. I then wiped it with rubbing alcohol. I put the strips where I wanted them before I took off the backing. I placed them about 2 inches apart to be sure there would not be a chance of slipping. Then I took off the backing of each strip (one at a time) and put it in position using the included tool. So far they work great! They are adhering, are easy on the feet, are invisible and I don't slip! I ordered only one set because part of my shower space is taken by a shower seat so the strips are not needed there. They really do exactly what they need to do and the process is completely easy. I would caution one one thing though — they are rough. This is not like a squishy suction mat feel on your skin. And that doesn’t bother me at all when showering. But taking a bath? It’s extremely uncomfortable on your butt and legs.
