Thats exactly why there is a BEC on the ESC, so you dont need a 6V battery for the receiver. **Q: What gauge is the wire on the receiver?** A: The wires to and from the receiver are basically signal wires. We have had many other controllers and all my kids have started young and made it work on the controls they started on, but when I saw this, I thought I want to see how this one might be. So I got it and I was impressed with it. It's great in an adults hand, but the real test and why I wanted it was for my 2 year old son. So I let him hold it and he was able to use it a lot better than most other controllers. Everything seems to be a lot closer and he can wrap his little hands around it ok.
