I could take it or leave it. It met the product description and details for the most part but isn't something I am ever likely to order again. It could have some really cool features, An awesome looking design, Or maybe it’s just a killer deal. But overall the price of the product is not worth it. 4 Star: I like this product. This item has met all expectations, The design is sound, The build is great and the product does what it was made for. It’s a great product that i can recommend buying. Not only does it meet all expectations but it’s a product that’s well made (designed, formulated, composed, etc) and lives up to the product details and description. It exceeds normal consumer expectations Review: What to expect for a Hard Drive - I put this into my newly built computer alongside a SSD. Overall, Western Digital has kept to their reputation and delivered an excellent HDD. Sound: I took this hard drive and plugged it in outside the computer, and I still can't hear it over the quiet whir of the fans. It the slot, it vibrates very little, so I get no noise from that as well. Operating System: I tried putting Linux Mint on this drive initially. it booted faster than I expected from a hard drive. If you are using this solely as a OS drive, then you will not be disappointed with the speed / cost ration. Music, Movies, Games: Now, this drive is for my music, movies, games, audiobooks, etc. I've seen fast transfer rates when moving a lot of data from the SSD over to this HDD. Game loading and boot times are also fast. I've never seen a loading screen over 10 seconds thus far over quite a few different games. The performance/cost ratio for WD Caviar Blue hard drives is very tough to beat. 1TB is plenty for just about anyone. With the 5 year warranty given by WD, this is as good as it gets for HDDs. ## Features - Ships in Certified Frustration-Free Packaging - 1 TB capacity holds up to 200,000 digital photos, 250,000 MP3 files, and 120 hours of HD video. - 3rd generation SATA interface for 6 GB/s maximum data transfer rates. - WD Caviar Blue hard drives have a multitude of features to deliver rock solid performance and ultra-cool and quiet operation. - WhisperDrive technology minimizes noise to levels near the threshold of human hearing. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00461LT6S | | Additional Features | Portable | | Best Sellers Rank | #3,923 in Internal Hard Drives #58,251 in Computer Internal Components | | Brand | Western Digital | | Cache Memory Installed Size | 32 | | Color | Blue | | Compatible Devices | Windows 7/Vista/XP/2000, Mac and Linux operating systems. | | Connectivity Technology | SATA | | Customer Package Type | Standard Packaging | | Customer Reviews | 4.4 out of 5 stars 244 Reviews | | Data Transfer Rate | 750 megabytes_per_second | | Digital Storage Capacity | 1 TB | | Form Factor | 3.5-inch | | Global Trade Identification Number | 02374439500065 | | Hard Disk Description | Mechanical Hard Disk | | Hard Disk Form Factor | 3.5 inches | | Hard Disk Interface | SATA 6 GB/s | | Hard Disk Rotational Speed | 7200 rpm | | Hard-Drive Size | 1 TB | | Hardware Connectivity | SATA 6.0 Gb/s | | Hardware Platform | PC | | Installation Type | Internal Hard Drive | | Item Part Number | WD10EALX | | Item Weight | 1.1 pounds | | Manufacturer | Western Digital | | Media Speed | 75 MB/s | | Mfr Part Number | WD10EALX | | Model Name | WD10EALX | | Model Number | WD10EALX | | Number of Items | 1 | | Read Speed | 600 megabytes_per_second | | Special Feature | Portable | | Specific Uses For Product | Personal | | UPC | 718037773056 | | Warranty Description | 2 | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Western Digital - **Color:** Blue - **Compatible Devices:** Windows 7/Vista/XP/2000, Mac and Linux operating systems. - **Connectivity Technology:** SATA - **Digital Storage Capacity:** 1 TB - **Hard Disk Description:** Mechanical Hard Disk - **Hard Disk Form Factor:** 3.5 inches - **Hard Disk Interface:** SATA 6 GB/s - **Installation Type:** Internal Hard Drive - **Special Feature:** Portable ## Images ![WD Blue 1 TB Desktop Hard Drive: 3.5 Inch, 7200 RPM, SATA III, 32 MB Cache - WD10EALX - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61Yqb5zxMJL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five Stars *by L***E on September 4, 2016* nothing fancy, it works 4 years down the road still in operation STAR RATINGS: Each product is carefully reviewed in an unbiased manner. Who cares about price if something delicate is ruined in shipping? In any case this hard drive is running quiet and perfect with no problems this long, means there should not have been any mechanical damage done to it while in Amazon.com (Amazon.com and not an affiliate) hands, and it was treated with the extreme care such very delicate devices require. Unlike some things throwing these against a wall - type of damage with insufficient CUSHIONING won't be good. Since I am more concerned with reliability than speed, is the reason I chose this model at the time. After Partitioning and formatting, this is the main drive of a newly built i5-2500K 16GByte Computer, and it was all I could afford until I can afford to get the operating system running on a Solid State, but whatever the load time for Windows 7 is is OK for me. I am so happy Amazon.com fixed their "Hard Drive Problem" - the right way by shipping them properly (little plastic inserts) for the electro-mechanical devices they are. Be sure to pick the most gently-handled (non-throwing) shipping method too in my opinion. Bottom Line is I'm happy. ## Frequently Bought Together - WD Blue 1 TB Desktop Hard Drive: 3.5 Inch, 7200 RPM, SATA III, 32 MB Cache - WD10EALX - Samsung Electronics 870 EVO 2TB 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-77E2T0B/AM) - Samsung 990 PRO SSD NVMe M.2 PCIe Gen4, M.2 2280 Internal Solid State Hard Drive, Seq.
