STERR Two Speed Controller DSC001 for DFA Duct Fan

Had a relatively powerful wall extractor, supper noisy and just ddn't tdo the job, lots of condensation and and balck mould as a consequence. So when renovating my bathroom, got this and installed in my loft above the shower. I connected with 6" flu. To minimise the noise potential I suspended the fan in the air with a couplke of 4x2" joists and boxed it in with some MDF. Worked a treat, less nise than my other one and no vibration. The performance is great, no condensation even my mirror doesnt steam up like it used to. Would recommend.

Fitted to an old extractor hood, ie, took out the old motor, and fitted this in the roof space. So easy, and very quiet as i mounted it on very spongy rubberised pieces. do not forget the one way air valve and never ever reduce the airflow size with reducers, just buy the smalled diameter fan base, as this will make the item noisy. One last thing, beware the arrows for air direction, they are not immediately apparent, just a < on the base and the fan

This seems like a good quality product, was easy to fit although the wiring instructions are confusing especially relating to the two speeds, I decided to leave it as it is because I couldn't work out how to change the speed. I'm assuming it's on high speed and it's not too noisy, but not super quiet either.

This Fan is powerful and much quieter than my previous 6" fan. It comes without a mains cable attached, and can be wired two different ways for high speed/ lowspeed (there is no speed switch)

Stopped working after 1 month!! Not going full speed. Hopefully will be able too return

Easy install. Noisier than expected on startup. Happy with power, clearing steam better than old 4" fan
