Dickies Men's Perry Y-Back Adjustable Suspender

I'm a big dude with a big belly but I am an active worker and have to wear a drill attached to a belt drill hook for sometimes hours a day, so a good pair of suspenders and belt is a must. I've never tried this Perry style suspender before but won't ever use another kind now. These clips that clip under the belt are such a great idea. The back clip is designed such that it fits over a center-located belt loop. They don't slide around like I feared. They don't fall off when I bend over like I feared either. Most important they don't jack up my belt or pants with metal teeth like traditional suspenders. I just ordered another one in another color and threw out my metal clip suspenders. Only thing is I sure wish they came in more colors, cause I'd buy more if they were offered! Combine this with a Hank belt (yes, that belt is definitely worth the price!) and you got a great everyday set-up for a big fat dude (and I would assume skinny peeps too!) :)

It looks good. Reason for 4 stars: the elastic material does look a bit cheap and does the plastic clip/hooks. Seems like the hooks might break depending on what you carry. Instead of making the clips/hooks full plastic, you will see a big hole, makes me thinks that it will probably break from there.I took some photos of it with the belt I’ll be using. My setting is for internal wearing(so it reversed) and not external(made to be used that way), but I did took a photo, so you can see how it will look as internal and external use.Internal is under my shirt, which I will need to make three holes to the shirt and external just goes on top of the shirt and anyone can see it.Decent price, but I also order a different (4 hooks) type. Just in case this one fails.ps. You can adjust the length from the sides only and it’s not made in China! Last two photos are for external wear(common wear).

The good: They work very well as advertised. With my senior citizen body, a wide belt aided by suspenders is a must. Had all kinds of issues trying to wear traditional suspenders with a belt, but these work!The bad: Every single time I drop my pants for whatever reason, I am faced with having to reattach the suspenders....and they will not attach and stay put prior to pulling up my pants. I have to fasten the pants/belt, reach around blindly behind me to attach the rear hook over my middle belt loop, then do the front ones. I am only knocking off one star for this dissatisfaction. I have noted other users experiencing this issue.

These are strong enough to hold up Duluth Ballroom winter jeans while I wear a carpenter's apron loaded with tools and fasteners. If they work for an old grumpy fat carpenter, they'll probably work for you too. 'Nuff said.

Others have complained about them falling off of their belt when taken off the shoulders. This depends on the belt you use. I personally use a heavy real leather belt that is considerably thicker than most cheap belts, so this has been a non-issue for me. As to the longevity of the elastic qualities, I can't speak to that at this point. So far they do exactly what they were intended to do. I find the clips on these suspenders much easier to use than the traditional clamps found on most suspenders. The clips are plastic but seem to be durable.

I work and do a lot of lifting and moving, I though it would be a great design and I have had trouble with poor quality metal suspender clips. This is a great thought but not practical if you are doing a lot of work. The clip part that slides onto the belt needs to be made to be tighter. They come of to easily. They also seem to come off when I sit down or slide into a vehicle to get into it.

Looks heavier duty on photo .. it's a lighter medium duty from my perspective .. I'm retired and have a small private vineyard .. I work outside doing the vineyard farming thing .. I was having trouble keeping my pants from fall down using a belt (I like to wear my pants a little loose!)At any rate I tried a heavier duty suspender rig and setup but it was to cumbersome and hot for me to work longer hours .. I found these and decided to give them a try .. They are simple and light weight .. like the easy on easy off from under the belt hook system .. so far so good

It holds the pants up when slipped under the belt, as designed... but when you need to drop the trousers, they tend to slip off the belt, so when you got to pull them back up, you need to re-tuck them into the belt... this is also true when bending in certain ways... I used them with my tactical belt, and when I bent over or squatted, they'd come un-done... so from that perspective, it was a pain... I suppose if I had used them with a thicker material they may have stayed in place better... but I think I'm going to stick with the mechanical fasteners or use buttons (old school) when wearing braces...That said, if you're getting these because you need some help holding up a duty belt or work belt, I think this would be a good piece of additional support.

These are great value braces, half the price of Perry's. However as you would expect the quality is not quite as good. However they do the job just as well, and are well made. What's not to like!

Loved these coz they hook on the belt rather than clips that ping off, very secur3 and well made clips for a belt much better than standard braces
