I am usually guaranteed parts that don't fit, things that have to be modified and numerous trips to the hardware store.It's a pleasure to find this simple to install drain kit. I bought it for a new sink installation that uses a fancy fixture that follows the current trend of not using a lever operated drain closure. So a popup type like this is required. That's okay with me, I rarely fill my sink's basin with water and when I do I have no problem with using a popup opener.Installation is incredibly easy, just drop it into the drain hole, line it up with the drain under the sink and tighten the fasteners. It's about a five minute job from opening the box to cleaning up.THINGS TO KNOWCompared to traditional bath sink drains this one looks huge and the pop up part sticks up higher than you may be used to. It takes getting used to and traditionalists may not care for it. I paired it with a Kohler Bryant sink and a highly decorative waterfall fixture and to me the oversize drain actually adds to the contemporary effect.When installing, note that there is an overflow hole in the drain. This hole should be oriented so it faces the overflow hole that’s built into your sink. This drain can only be used with sinks that have an overflow feature.Note the design of the rubber gaskets on this drain, they are not around the perimeter but rather around the inner tube. This assures a tight leak-free seal.Yes this drain is all plastic. I'm not that fond of plastic fixtures in my bathroom but for a drain I don't care, it's a fully functional component that's out of sight and it's so easy to replace that some day when it gets messy, as drains always eventually do, I can simply get a new one. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Great upgrade *by A***O on Reviewed in the United States on October 26, 2018* Great upgrade to my previous drain assembly. Looks nice, fit well, was easy to install, easy to use (much easier than my perpetually malfunctioning lever-style drain) and seems to be operating as it should. What not to love? Arrived super fast, in perfect new condition, all pieces there, and the price was much less than if I'd bought a different brand or at a "big box" store. About the only thing I could complain about--not being a plumber or especially practiced at drains--is the lack of any real notes or mention in the instructions of the overflow part of draining a sink with one (overflow feature). It tells you to line up the logo on the drain top, but doesn't say exactly which way it should read, and I wasn't sure if it mattered where the overflow gap below the drain top ended up relative to the sink. Turns out it didn't--I tested the overflow (by over-filling the sink after installation so that water went into the overflow holes) and it drained without any problems, so I suppose it either lined up by itself or didn't need any particular alignment. No leaks yet, so I guess the only thing left is to see how long it holds up! If it dies an early death, I'll update my review. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to install. Easy to use. And when you fill the sink, it does not drain out in a few minutes (the main reason we replaced the old drain).Easy to remove the popup (just unscrew it) for cleaning. Although I expect that there will be less cleaning required as there is less to trap hair.So far I love this. But will update the review if any issues arise (which I doubt).Highly recommend.UPDATE 4/6/2020:Still really like this item. Hair is not trapped. Just doesn't happen. Does require occasional cleaning. see item two below.We've seen two issues that can be easily addressed:1: This is a push-push system (push popup to seal; push again to open and allow water to drain).Sometimes, when you push down to seal, the popup does not seal and water runs out. To solve, gently push the popup down so that it seals. Very gentle pressure.2: Sometimes, when you push to open, the popup does not come all the way up. Kind of half way. This appears to be that the rubber gasket on the popup shaft is a little sticky. Solution is to unscrew the popup and wipe your fingers along the rubber gasket. Run hot water over the rest of the unit if it needs to be cleaned. I do this about once a week. Takes about 2 minutes.Great product.UPDATE 3/10/2023Still love this popup drain. Hair clogs just don't happen. Great customer service! We continued to have some probs with water draining out. I sent email to pfister, asking for the right replacement. I did not ask for a replacement. They answered by saying it was under warranty and just sending me the replacement! No problems with the replacement.
