This book is Amazing
I got this for my son who loves animals. He pours over it reading about animals and searching around for specific animals. It was quite interesting to learn that a red panda is in the raccoon family rather than the bear family. It makes sense, but I didn't really think about it. The book has beautiful photographs. It's not an in-depth study of animals, but it is a great overview. My niece has one, too, and she loves her copy as well.

wonderful book!
I just put it on the coffee table, and within a few minutes, kids and grown-ups were looking through it. Beautiful pictures. Short info about each animal.

Beautiful book with gorgeous color photos!
I was hesitant to think that this book would look like much of anything for the price it was going for. As it turns out, the only thing wrong is that the dust jacket is missing, which I don't care about at all. The book is absolutely beautiful with full color photos throughout and detailed information about all the animals. Even exotic animals are included in this national geographic book. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in animals!

A really good book for animal lovers!
I purchased this book for my above average 3 year old grandson as a Christmas present. He loved the pictures, but for now his parents will have to read the text to him until he gets older. The animals are divided into families and there are so many pictures it will keep you busy with a three year old asking "What kind of animal is that?" Dad also found it an interesting book. This is almost what I would call a "Coffe Table" book since there are so many pictures and the color is so vibrant. The text goes into pretty good detail and would satisfy an adult reader. It is everything you would expect a National Geographic product to be!

Still a really nice resource and he loves his encyclopedias
My son had the previous copy too from the library and indicated he thinks there are a few less animals in this one than the previous edition. Not sure but I tend to believe him with his photographic memory. Still a really nice resource and he loves his encyclopedias.

Great book for all ages
I purchased this book for my grandson. He was so amazed at how many different animals this book reviewed. It is a very nice book and has so much information in it. Such an interesting book for all ages. So many different facts on so many animals. He is always telling me different facts about animals he has read about in his book. He is 8 yrs. old and watches all varieties of living creatures on TV. I was so sure he would love this book and I was right. This is one of the best purchases I have made. The book is large, hardback and very well made. You can't go wrong when you purchase a National Geographic book. Also fast shipping.
