5 stars, but only because I did my research. First of all, I was looking for a durable leather work boot. Steel toe wasn't on my mind, but I went with it (yard work, brush clearing, etc is my use for the boot - not professional construction). I did not care about the waterproofing, since I don't plan on wading around in water. If you do, don't buy this boot. It does not claim to be a water-proof boot, so don't expect it. I have a wide foot, wide enough to normally order a full size larger than my "measured" foot (which is 8.5 in exactly in length). I'd normally probably buy a 9, but they are never wide enough.....NEVER. Also, as a point of mention I have really high arches from barefoot running. Why do I point this out? Because there is a reviewer that complained the seam of the boot was irritating the top of his foot. I got the 9.5c/d which showed up as a 9.5w. I don't understand the size chart since it doesn't match the drop down link. I went to the CAT website to see the comparison. Bottom line is the boot fits perfectly. Took a couple of days to break in and all the complaints go back and forth on this. Look, it's a leather work boot. Get a bigger size that you "think" you need and wear thick socks. While I'm on the topic, learn how to break in a boot. My method? Pressure wash the back deck with the boots on, let them dry, oil them, and they will fit like a glove. Mine do and I couldn't be happier with my $67 boots (literally half the price of the Keen's I was looking at.......I have worn out 3 pair of Keen's in 2 years........piss poor for a guy who basically used them as an around town walking boot). I wanted durable, and I got it.
