Proverbial Knife through butter
Pleasently surprised wasn't really expecting too much TBH. That said though it worked well. Patience is the key word here, take your time and it cuts really well, once you've got that sorted it's really easy to use. So for the price you pay it's good value for money. It looks flimsy just outa the box but does the job. Just remember to clean the "blade" regularly as there is a build up quickly and as you'd imagine can smell a bit cutting through.

dont be fooled by the price great little hot knife
ive seen alot of people say on here on the rod snapped now ive not had an issue with mine personally i was able to cut though 50mm of grey styrofoam defoo keep doors or windows open and wear a mask because cutting such materials smells pretty bad & i reason this isnt 5 stars because i think rod could be longer or thicker

Good value, does the job
I used this to carve 3cm thick polyurethane foam for a tool box insert. It leaves a few scorch marks, as expected, but it's easy to handle and did the job. A cardboard template made the job straightforward and some sort of guide is a necessity for a decent result. You need to take time to practice and go slowly; I used a damp kitchen towel to occasionally wipe the cutting part. It gets hot so take care not to burn yourself or any surrounding material.

Works ok on dance foam but needs a little patience.
Works ok, heats up quickly and I'm only cutting 12mm deep foam but does struggle a bit and that might be because the form is quite dense. Anyway acceptable cuts by taking things slow and thus 3 stars.

Superb, well made, use slowly
I saw all the reviews stating ”poor quality” ”broke immediately” ”bending when any pressure put on the wand” and thought......typical user error blaming the tool being used. This was just the tool I needed to do the job I had , to cut out shapes in polystyrene, so I ordered it. It arrived promptly and packaged very well, no frills ,not impressed by fancy packaging what's inside is what matters. The tool itself looked very well made so did the power unit provided, checked the voltage with a multimeter and fell in spec. Using the tool needs practice on a scrap section . 4 simple rules 1 wait 10 seconds for it to heat up. 2 hold vertically like a pencil do not grip tight 3 only work at the speed the tool allows smooth movement, if you are pushing with any force then slow down, 4 clean with damp paper towel while on and after every cut. Very pleased with this cutter for straight cuts use a steel ruler to run down the edge, very steady hand needed but practice first.

Cheap, works fine. Use outside if you can.
I bought this to cut down large pieces of styrofoam packing material so it'll fit down our garbage chute. I had difficulty making precise cuts, but that was fine for what I was doing. Highly recommend using this outdoors, the fumes are pretty bad, but that's just what happens when you melt styrofoam.

Does the job!
Bought to cut shapes in polystyrene and it heats up fast and cuts fine but you have to have a steady hand as it will cut very quickly. Needs a wipe every so often to take of melted polystyrene. It is by its nature and requirement a thin piece of metal so could be damaged relatively easily but so far it has worked fine and been fit for purpose. It did its job!

This is not a cutter
This device is no more than. a soldering rod with less heat than a soldering iron. It burns through the foam, but cools down quickly. It doesn't produce a clean cut because it hasn't got a blade, hence why it should not be advertised as a "cutter". Very poor result. Not sure what people would buy this for. I think I would have been better off using sharp scissors and spending money on a scissor sharpener.

Qualité nulle
Nul. Ne chauffe pas assez donc coupe rien. L'aiguille de chauffe est tellement fine qu'au bout de 5 minutes d'utilisation celle-ci était déjà tordue et inutilisable. Produit à fuir.
