EMG Solderless Wiring Kit for 1-2 Active Pickups - Short Shaft (Strat) 10mm

Before we begin, I want to make it clear this was my first time changing pickups by myself I'd usually pay someone to do it for me. I was surprised on how easy it is to work with this kit. Instructions were crystal clear, everything was labeled properly and they included directions for either 1 tone and 1 volume or 2 of each. I ordered the short shaft (strat) and they fitted perfectly on my ltd viper. It took me longer to get the old pickups and wires out of the guitar than to install the new ones, thats how practical this kit is. Now, make sure you order the solderless toggle switch in addition to this kit otherwise you would have to do some soldering, not a big deal, but is something to keep in mind. Last but not least, buying from this seller would save you some extra bucks since they offer free shipping.

I’ve used this wire harness on several of my guitars and they all work great. Very easy to install(no soldering is a blessing) and there is no hum or xtra feedback. Everything is explained in the directions they send. I’ve still got one Les Paul to switch over next month I’ll continued to use the EMG solderless wire harness it’s well worth the xtra $$

Follow the wiring diagram and this will go easily and quickly. This comes with everything you will need to install this in any guitar. It also comes with a detailed set of wiring diagrams. The only thing I would double check is wil I was wiring this up for 2 pickup’s 2 volume 1 tone and 3 way toggle switch. The included diagrams show it wired incorrectly. I looked att EMG’s website and found the correct diagram.

This kit works perfect in all of my ESP/LTD EC1000 guitars. Makes for quick pick up switchouts. Best price online I could find. Great quality, the electronics are quiet.

This arrived fairly quickly and was sealed in a compact plain clear bag. In the kit the parts are colorful, well made, and easy to understand in isolation. The kit does not contain a selector switch, which makes sense given that different switches will be used in different installations. I found the wiring diagrams cramped on the page, but not difficult to follow once you determine how you're going to set up your wiring. All in all, I would buy this again were I to wire another EMG pickup set.

Very easy to install for the most part. Make sure you pick the correct pickup/pot/switch setup as this allows for a bunch of variations. Took me less than 30 minutes including some minor alterations I had to make (see CON). Easy to follow instructions and enough wiring for even a longer pick up to switch cable run. Cons: - The quick connectors don't always fit in the factory wiring routing holes. I have an ESP KH-2 and had to either modify the wiring (cut connectors and solder a couple of them) or drill my routing holes larger. I opted to not drill into my guitar and just solder a few joints. - It's also a very tight fit with only a 9vDC active pickup setup. If you run 18vDC with two 9vDC batteries you may have issues depending on the size of your wiring box.

This kit should be the industry standard for all pickups and pots. Even though my soldering skills are top notch, I absolutely hate it! This EMG kit makes it so much easier, you just plug it in. The only soldering that needs to be done is, if you have an older set of EMG's (which mine are) that are hard wired. Doesn't come with a pickup selector switch nor does it state that the kit comes with one, but, you should already have one anyway. Overall, a nice, clean looking, easy installation, which compliments the tone of EMG pickups very well. (Now, if only someone could come up with an easier way to do pickup change outs without having to take apart half of the guitar. XD)

Have guitar with EMG's was getting RF noise, installed this solderless kit and RF noise is gone.
