Ingredients : Real vanilla bean extracts, Propylene glycol. Vanilla is a tropical climbing orchid with the only edible fruit of the orchid family. It is a fleshy, herbaceous vine that grows to a height of 10 – 15 meters, supporting itself on the host plant with aerial roots which are produced all along the stem. Leaves are flat and fleshy and vary in size along the stem. Vanilla is best grown at sea level to 600 meters and the crop thrives in hot, moist, insular climates with frequent, but not excessive rain. Vanilla is one of the world’s most labour intensive crops. From pollination to harvest, to curing, vanilla is cultivated today as it was centuries ago, entirely by hand. Pure vanilla extract, whether it be a vanilla bean or pure extract, has a wonderful aromatic flavor that does not compare to any other spice or flavour on the market, though chemists do try to come close with imitation vanilla and vanilla flavouring. Vanillin is the organic compound flavour that forms that primary component of vanilla bean extract. Vanilla extract is produced by steeping the vanilla beans in an alcohol and water solution for several months, sometimes with sugar added, thereby producing a clear dark liquid with a rich flavour full of aroma. Imitation vanilla is made with synthetic vanillin – either from the petrochemical guaiacol or from lignin, a natural constituent of wood; and treated with chemicals. It often has a harsh quality that leaves a bitter aftertaste. Vanilla flavouring is usually a combination of imitation vanilla and pure vanilla extract. Twice as much imitation vanilla is required to match the strength of pure vanilla extract or the seeds from a vanilla bean. Though much cheaper, synthetic vanillas today do not come close to competing with pure vanilla – the real thing! FarmOwn Vanilla essence is natural and real vanilla beans extract. Cakes to cookies, marshmallows to buttercream frosting: none of these recipes is complete without a drop of vanilla extract. Use vanilla to add rich flavor to sweet and savory dishes alike. The role of vanilla in sweet baked dishes is like the role of salt on the savory side: it enhances all the other flavors in the recipe. Without it, cookies and cakes tend to taste flat and bland. Cakes to cookies, marshmallows to buttercream frosting: none of these recipes is complete without a drop of vanilla extract. They also kept in touch with me the whole time while looking into the problem. Turns out they had a faulty set of stoppers which weren't compatible with the interior of the cap, which is why the replacement bottle also arrived with a broken-in stopper (thankfully the outer seal was preserved this time). They also shipped two sets of compatible caps and stoppers separately, so I can verify their explanation. I use the new set on my replacement bottle and it works perfectly. I still won't use the old one because of the outer seal being broken which hasn't really been explained. As for the product, it is a nice vanilla extract which seems to be the real deal. The smell isn't overwhelmingly strong unlike the cheaper artificial flavourings you generally find on the market. It adds a lovely, appetizing fragrance and flavour to my breakfast and beverages. Beware, the extract is extremely viscous so you may want to get rid of the stopper completely.Original Review: My bottle just arrived. The seal on the cap is broken and the inner stopper is damaged with the product leaking outward. In addition, I'm not sure if I've received a genuine product as the bottle looks somewhat different from what's shown here in the display picture (matte body vs. glossy; bottle proportions are slightly off for the same quantity). I've written to the seller requesting a replacement and will update my review if and when that is fulfilled. I sure hope my money doesn't go to waste. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Plastic bottle but genuine vanilla extract inside *by on Reviewed in India 23 May 2020* I have orderd this item twice. The first time the order came in a glass bottle but the next order which I recently received , has a plastic cheap looking bottle. Seems they downgraded the packaging. The flavour and scent are same though.Ok editing it again : the vanilla extract is genuine, brown and how it should be. I think the plastic bottles throws customers away because in the picture they see a glam bottle. The extract inside is legit and still the same quality . Your baking results will come out tastier than the white alcoholic ones you will get at your local grocers ( ugh..) After using this I can never use the transparent version. Go for this one guys . It’s great . ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very good quality *by on Reviewed in India 9 November 2020* Was very skeptical for ordering vanilla extract online . however the product seems genuine and has good packaging with a seal . It has a mild fragrance of vanilla and is not overbearing like artificial essence. Also does not have the bitterness of artificial vanilla . Good for baking and also in coffee . Gives a pleasant aroma . However over time if not kept properly the liquid may evaporate and become thick.Ordered it again after a good experience the first time , got a good product.Edit : also good for making ice cream ## Frequently Bought Together - FarmOwn Natural Real Vanilla Extract 30 ml Essence for Cooking, Baking, Food, Milk, Ice Cream, Cake - Hershey's Cocoa Powder, 225g - Urban Platter Aluminum-Free Baking Powder, 250g [Double Acting,Gluten-free] --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.fr/products/157010520-natural-real-vanilla-extract-30-ml-essence-for-cooking-baking](https://www.desertcart.fr/products/157010520-natural-real-vanilla-extract-30-ml-essence-for-cooking-baking) --- *Product available on Desertcart France* *Store origin: FR* *Last updated: 2026-10-04*
