Perfect fit and strong flames
These inserts fit my Zippo perfectly and work just like I hoped. The dual flames get really hot and look super cool, which is great for lighting cigars, and the burn is consistent every time. They’re windproof and feel really solid, high quality overall. Refilling is simple too, so I don’t have to worry about running out quickly. Seems to last longer than traditional lighter fluid. No leaks and doesn't dry out. This will save you money on fuel in the long run. Definitely a reliable upgrade for any Zippo owner.

Required some tweaking with the regulator for proper functionality
I bought this butane insert over 4 years ago and it never really worked that well. I tried the suggestions to remove the limiter, etc... and then the thought occurred me to recently to adjust it without the limiter. This worked. I was able to find the minimum point where it would stay barely ignited. Then turned it until it was using fuel too fast. Then backed it down to find a good sweet spot. Then I re-inserted the limiter based on this. Now it easily ignites and stays on, and repeat ignitions are 100% reliable. I no longer have to worry about the Zippo fuel drying with the old wick setup. I can also buy Zippo butane fuel relatively cheaply at my local store. If yours doesn't ignite properly, stay lit, or uses fuel too quickly - I suggest playing with the adjustments with or without the limiter to get it to work.

Worked great after some minor adjustment.
I couldn’t wait to receive this, I wasn’t a fan of the lighter fluid cotton balls that zippos normally come with. I’m not a smoker and usually just carry a zippo for cool and fidget factor. But, once in a blue moon I do use it. For example, last camping trip I had to cut a length of paracord and when it came time to melt the tip so that it doesn’t unravel I find out that the cotton balls have dried out. So, the answer is this, a self contained pressurized refillable butane torch insert. But, upon receiving and slipping it into my zippo (perfect fit btw) it doesn’t work. I clicked and clicked and it would light once every 5 or 6 clicks. I start to curse, got ready to return the product and fire off an angry review then realized after reading other reviews that this seems to be a common problem. The electrode tip is vertical and it had to bent towards one of the jets to create an arc to light up the butane. I also found that if you lightly press on the igniter for a split second before fully pressing you get a consistent ignition. So, after doing all that all is good with world and now I have a functional tool. Too bad it doesn’t come in brass to match my zippo.

It works well, looks good, the flames are strong (That's all the good I can say).
Do check out YouTube video on how to fix butane insert. It is working well, after adjusting the valve. **REVISED REVIEW** This is rather disappointing: it turned out to be one that only looks good. The Butane Insert performed great initially. As I began using it, I noticed the flame getting shorter. I maxed out the flame, but to no avail. now one month and 3 days later, it altogether stopped working. I pressed the igniter button next to my ear, and I do not hear any "Sssss..." from the nozzle. No gas is escaping, when the ignitor button is pressed, even when the piezo clicks. I appears that gas is not being released at all to be ignited. So, I find this item suffers from two defects: 1) Gas output control lets out gas only at the minimum strength; 2) Igniter button does not release gas. So I checked Zippo website for return instruction. They want my address, email, and telephone, and picture of the date code on the insert. Too much hassle, and not giving out my personal info for this POS. Zippo wants to mine my personal info, in return for fulfilling their warrantee. So I checked the return policy on the item page on Amazon, and it may be returned, IF UNUSED! By the way, the return window closed exactly one month after purchase. Well, sad to say it, but: GOOD LUCK with buying this piece, future customers! It's a gamble. It's not the same Zippo, at least not after 2005. That was last time I bought one. It remains a perfect Zippo specimen. ** ** ** ** ** I filled it for 5 sec initially, before I attempted to light. It was touch and go in the beginning. I filled it until the gas began to leak (to the full), and it lit up everytime. The trick is to depress the button lightly to let the gas out, then depress all the way down for the piezo to spark. Voila! twin lovely blue flame shot up. I will see about its longevity and gas retention after a period of enjoyable use. AS for $15 (almost) price? Well... I wish it was cheaper, but if this insert last long, I think I can accept it. But I bought it for the novelty value and coolness of it.

Works great. Got a new Zippo and put this in it to light my cigars.

Zippo's Butane Inserts Are Defective and the Defect is Well Know
As a former cigarette smoker I used Zippos for decades in the last century so I was predisposed to like their products. This confidence was demonstrated by my purchase of the Double Torch insert and two shells and two Zippo branded butane canisters (I smoke a cigar now and then and thought this Zippo set up was a cool idea). The butane insert worked for only one recharge cycle and then stopped. I checked out the web to see what was going on. Maybe it was me; an operator error? No. Search the Internet and see. This defective butane insert is well known and the fix is fairly complicated and is a mixed bag of success and failure. It would be like buying a new car and it runs... sometimes... and requires you to do some Jack Leg Fix which may or may not work. Not cool. I figured that this defect, so well known, would be a familiar problem that Zippo would quickly remedy. Again. No. The customer service rep pretended to not know about what I was describing but tripped up and sent me instructions to fix the defect (the same one she did not know about). Those instructions failed because those instructions were basically just instructions on recharging the insert. The defect is way more complicated than that. You can see where this is going: I asked for a refund or a replacement that has the defect solved. Did that happen? No. Now I have to pack this up, drive to UPS, send it to Zippo and hope that they issue a refund... which will likely be problematic in just the same way this whole transaction has been. Lastly, I rarely.... VERY RARELY... complain or return things much less write up my complaints for the whole world to read.... I mean, even if wait-staff at a restaurant is rubbish, I'll still tip 20% and just not return. I will follow that rule here and never return to Zippo and my suggestion is, dear reader, that you also avoid this vendor.

Good insert - Great customer service, as expected. Not USA factory made=not completely ZIPPO
Several months have lapsed since I received my new insert. This is to advise that although the device is not US made, its general performance clearly meets ZIPPO's standards of quality and reliability. I have changed my rating form 4 stars to 5 stars. Recommended based on personal experience. Below is my previous 3-star review. I consulted with the factory, and they sent me an instruction sheet and some ways to try to bring the insert to life. None worked so they said to return it. I promptly received another, shipping prepaid WITH a return label for prepaid shipment. The new insert works well and at this price does a good job lighting cigars. The flame may require adjustment as the tank depletes its fuel, but overall, I'm satisfied and continue to enjoy using my old Zippo case. It may take a little more patience than some cigar lighters, but I'm pleased to have and use it regularly. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that it's not US made. I know tooling and starting a line in a factory is costly, but an expert metal stamper and bender like ZIPPO should be making these in the US. * * * * * * HERE IS MY LD REVIEW. PLEASE DISREGARD IT - I've been a ZIPPO user for 5+ decades. ALWAYS top-quality products and reliable. I thought this insert would be up to that expected standard but it's fallen short. There was no instruction sheet, the flame adjustment is VERY difficult to "set and forget" - needs constant adjustment to keep working, has a smaller capacity than expected from what looks like a pretty large fuel tank. I am sorry to be disappointed by a ZIPPO product but sadly, I am.
