I had some trouble figuring out how to lock the sides into place but after figuring that out it was perfect. This is built like a tank Review: Perfect but buy a separate mattress - Fairly small cot so doubt it would fit a 3 year old but its very sturdy, easy to put up and down and compact for travel or storage. My 15 month old grandson who's pretty weighty for his age bounced around in it happily when used as a playpen and it withstood his jumping, it's well made, sturdy and more importantly safe, he slept well in it too but I had to buy a separate mattress as the one that comes with it is little more than a board and definitely not a mattress.
