I haven't had these since I was a child and they are as good as I remembered when I was little. Thank you!!! Mickey Review: Small and rotten - Some of the worst chestnuts I’ve ever had. Roasted them like I normally do and over half were inedible and the rest hard and plain tasting. Very disappointed.

Small chess nuts 40% rotten
Small in size and 40% rotten. Came with some white specs of mold on top of them.

These were awful
These were awful. The inner skin stuck to every chestnuts and was very hard to remove even when hot. All I got were little pieces.

delicious but needed to be roasted in pot with lid!
They arrive damp. Take them out of the wrapper immediately and wash and scrub with hot water, no soap. Pat dry. Roast them in a pot WITH A LID. You must use a lid as some may explode. It takes longer in the oven, but then there are no burn marks and it smells great. You know they are done when you hear one or two explode in the pot. Take them out, DO NOT OPEN LID ON POT. Let cool. The chestnuts are delicious and HUGE, completely suitable for Thanksgiving stuffing or salting. Your house will smell like a Manhatten street corner in December while roasting! (the pot is a bugger to clean) What we didn't use we fed to the squirrels. PS. Image is after roasting.

Freshness and Flavor
These are some of the best chestnuts that I have found. They are rich in flavor and hardly any spoiled ones.

I would't buy again
I'm not sure where the chestnuts were from but I feel they may have been imported from far away. It took them over a week to get to me and they came in a simple plastic bag with some paper tissues stuffed inside to help with the moisture; the entire ensemble was placed in a USPS envelope. They do not taste great and quite a few were already gone bad. I'm sure it's also my fault for wondering chestnuts online but I couldn't find them at my local Whole Foods anymore. Quite disappointing.

They were dissapointment
After waiting almost 10 days, these chestnuts were really disappointing. Half of them were rotten; the inner skin stuck to every chestnut. They were difficult to eat.
