The set was smaller in size than I had anticipated -- the largest was smaller than I had thought, and the smallest much smaller than I need -- but they are excellent for all kitchen uses. Since they are glass, they are dishwasher/microwave safe, but they can be broken (no, I haven't broken any). When I need a really large bowl for mixing large batches, I have to use a stainless steel bowl that is much larger than the largest of these glass bowls.
