I used this matting as the cover for my sluice flume. It is very effective at catching any and all heavy materials, even in faster water. I've actually found that most of the lighter flakes don't even move once they're in the mat. The pan picture is of just the top mat being washed out. Keep in mind, this is the expected amount of gold for the day. I also used this as the end section on my mini sluice, a 3 foot long piece of gutter with some matting. It hasn't caught any gold yet, but it catches anything heavy. Black sand, garnet, iron, you name it. The mat is also pretty easy to cut. I traced out my flume and cut it out of the matting in 10 minutes or so. I will be buying more for a recirculating beach sluice.

I use this in my homemade sluice box. The mat seams to be quality and works as described. I have had no negative issues with the mat.

Good product

Used as a top indicator mat in my recirculating sleuice, caught a nice flake right away and hasn't slowed down since! Almost all the fine gold recovered since installing it at the top of the riffles has been in this V-mat. Works great, easy to trim to size/shape. Takes a little doing to clean out when working in a clay-rich area.

I made my owns sluice for fine gold recovery and this may works great for fine gold and sands. Even tested it with some gold flakes and nuggets. It caught everything I put through it.

I used this mat for a gold sluce box and it did ok the ribs in it are too small and not spread out enough but it did trap a little gold and quite a bit of blacksand so it was worth the money but there is better out there
