Function vs Quality
I purchased and received the assist version of SportsRoyals power tower on Dec 16, 2023. I’m am writing this review 2 weeks after I assembled and started using it. Before purchase I had read most of the recent and top rated reviews and found them very insightful. But, I also noticed opinions varied based on expectation, fitness routine and stature. so, this is my 6 foot 225 pound moderately active opinion. The shipping box looked smaller than expected and weighted 86 pounds. The contents were tightly and securely packed. There is no user guide, and what many people have reported as terrible assembly instructions is really an exploded view of components. So, it helps with assembly but not well. I struggled until I realized the manufacture put an assembly video on Amazon. Short and not perfect but, using it in conjunction with the so-called assembly instructions, it was understandable. From the time I moved the shipping box into the house, assembled and cleaned up afterwards 4 hours had passed. I took my time, made no mistakes and used every part and fastener supplied. I’d call success. When looking at pictures that some reviewers have submitted, I noticed equipment structure was not always of the same design. Those reporting the most shake or flex where made with round tubular steel frames. Strong but hard to attach support arms to. The one pictured and I received was made with squared tubular steel and has an “H” style base. Not the triangular base some pictures show. Guessing the manufacture has recently re-designed the tower to address stability (Shake and Flex). The Amazon site says the tower supports 440 pounds, however, the so-called assembly instruction states 330 pounds. Could it be the result of the re-design? I can confirm that the top pull-up bar connection does creak under my weight as reported, but it doesn’t bother me or seem excessive or dangerous. I included a video. Notice there is minimal flexing. A result of the squared tubular steel I suspect. The steel is thinner than I expected which became noticeable during assembly. Do not tighten the bolts beyond tightly snug or the tubular steel will start to buckle-in. To be fair I have a tendency to over torque everything. I compared this tower with the commercial brand Hoist. There is no comparison in quality. The Hoist is many times stronger but also many times more expensive. Actually 4 times more with no assist. The questions is, when is strong, strong enough. The SportRoyal would never hold up in a commercial fitness center. But probably good enough for my home gym. I needed the pull-up assist to get my muscles started, and it functions as others have said. Not the smoothest movement but, it does what it’s meant to do. However, the seat is completely and totally in the wrong position for assisted dips. Online specifications say each of the 4 assist bands is 22 Lbs, 88 total. I tested this by placing two 45 pound weight lifting plates on the seat. This 90 pounds lowered the seat 75% of the way down. Removing 1 plate, 45 Lbs, raised the seat 75% of the way back up. So, I would call this spec accurate and not bad for functioning with bungees. Prior to purchase I could not figure out how the assist seat converted to a back support. So, I included the change-over in the video. Easy to do after a couple of tries. The manufacturer must have been concerned that the pulleys on the assisted seat bungee system would bottom out and get damaged. So, they included what they’re calling an anti-crash support. A rod that stick up from the H base frame. I included it in the video. Easy to remove or install but very dangerous. If you forget to remove it and you lose grip when the seat is in the backrest position, you could impaled yourself. In conclusion: The manufacturer designed a functional and well thought out power tower that gives me the exercises I wanted, accept for assisted dips. The build quality is consistent with what I expected for home equipment. The relatively low cost and light weight allowed me to try, lift and afford the purchase. I don’t expect the assist bungee system to last forever, but, it should last long enough until I don’t need it anymore. There are no other low cost towers with assist that I could find. Yes the top pull-up bar can be set at several heights but don’t expect it to be a regular adjustment, it’s too difficult for that. Also, the assisted seat travel length is fixed which makes the pull-up bar height dependent on it. All-in-all I would purchase this power tower again.

Solid purchase!
Purchased this full pull up bar after I tried a doorway bar that felt like it would collapse every time I used it. This seemed like a safer piece of equipment. As a 45 year old woman putting this together alone, it wasn’t the hardest piece of equipment I have ever put together, but it wasn’t the easiest either. The hardware could have been numbered to make it easier to figure out what screws went where but if I could figure it out in minimal time, anyone could. It wasn’t heavy and I managed easily. The machine itself seems sturdy and solid. I’m 5’4, 125 lbs and it didn’t feel wobbly or uneven. Definitely serves the purpose and is compact, doesn’t take up much space. Great purchase, excited to do pull ups in my basement for all of eternity.

Good product, bad instructions
I just received this product so I haven't had time to use it in a workout yet. I have only tested it after putting it together. It feels very sturdy and functional. I do like the assist seat as I haven't done any type of pull-ups in years. I have discovered that as of now I can not do one without the assist which is why i chose to purchase this piece of equipment. Plus I do like doing vertical knee raises as well. It is also compact and doesn't take up a ton of space, great for a home gym. With that said, assembly was a bit cumbersome. I have put together many items in my life and am usually very thorough and competent about it. The instruction booklet is very vague. You have a diagram of parts, and a list of parts. I feel they should have named the parts below the diagram instead of a separate list. I found myself going back and forth to identify each part. It took about an hour to unwrap, lay out and identify to make sure I had every part, which I did. The packaging was wrapped well so no problem there. There is a video on the Amazon sitectocwatch installation which was helpful, but too fast. They would bounce out of the scene so quickly, I would tryptophan pause to see what direction the part would need to be placed. Plus the video instruction procedure differs from the steps in the booklet. I am a 63 year old woman and I put it together myself, but it took me about 4 hours total, unboxing, disposing of the packaging, with a lot down time trying to understand the instructions. (I did have to walk away for about 30 minutes to view installation instructions on my computer hoping to see better than on my phone, plus to take a break from the frustration) I probably could have finished quicker, but 2 things I did wrong, the instructions say to tighten all bolts as you go. I found when I was installing the assist pulley bars that I I needed to loosen the bottom crossbar of the base so I could line up the holes or I would have never been able to install. I also had installed the middle bar of the pull system upside down so the seat would not line up properly. Mostly I had to figure out on my own as the instruction sheets are so small it's hard to see the detail of the parts. That was where the video was handy. All in all, I believe this is a good product for the price point, very sturdy, and the pullys feel strong. I gave 4 stars only because the instructions need to be improved. I would say with better instructions it should take a bout 30 to 45 minutes to put together.

Passed the stability test with honors
We received the product and the packaging was very good, not top notch, but definitely solid. The components feel high quality and sturdy, with no flimsy parts at all. Assembly was straightforward, with very little room for guessing or making mistakes. We started using it right away to test our main concern: stability during use. I have to say, it’s extremely stable, no matter how hard you hang, jump, or pull yourself during a workout. Very impressed so far.

This is a great bit of equipment, I bought the version with the pulley assist for kids and wife to help them get to a pull up. The construction is solid heavy duty steel and thick screws. When assembled there is a bit of give here and there but nothing that would cause any concerns whatsoever. Build time took 2 hours with the tools provided. All the nuts and bolts were in neat separated packaging, so nothing to loose in the build mess. The instructions were fine to follow, the only tricky bit was getting head around the pulley system but it's self explanatory once you see the bits. The features are everything you need for a body weight session, pull up, dips, leg raises and a push up bar at the bottom. Full body work out without the need for weights. Swapping the seat from assist mode to leg raises position takes about 1 min so no bother at all. Changing the level of pulley assist is a little bit fiddly but really easy. There are 4 levels of assist. The extendable pull up bar is great for adapting to allow kids to have a go. Changing the position involves unscrewing the bolts and repositioning, then rescrewing which is slightly frustrating (2-3 mins) but it's a nick pick. Overall, really happy with it and would highly recommend if you want to improve your body weight training regime to become functionally fitter rather than just muscular.
