The dometic 1400 is a standard size . **Q: Can I leave the vent open while driving after this product is installed?** A: yes,vent can be left open **Q: Do you void the manufacturer warranty by drilling screw holes to install this?** A: I wouldn’t think so ,but I don’t know for sure. You have to drill 4 small holes in the mounting flange and none into the actual vent cover. **Q: Am i correct in saying that there is height adjustment on the maxxair cover to accommodate a fan-tastic vent fan with auto fan cover?** A: No height adjustment as far as a know. Just make sure you get the Maxair for the fantaxtic vent fan. I have a large vent fan on my Carbon 349 and the Maxair cover works perfectly! Just make sure it is for the large fan type. We had a Maxxair from the factory on the bathroom hatch with the exhaust fan so I bought this one to match and keep the rain off the leaky hatch. It came with all the hardware and was quick to install. It has the quick release pins so you can pull it off when needed. We've been on a several trips now and even driving with the vent open thru the rain we haven't had any water inside so I'd say this was a good fix.
