Reliable, great compatibility and good value
Compatible with every app I've tried and recognizes all the codes on my car. It fits OK, it's too long to fit under my dash with the cover on but it's a small car. Easy to use, but responsiveness could be better. I use it on an old car, so maybe that's why it is slower. I like that it turns off automatically when the car has been off for some time. Definitely good value.

Solid connection for PCM read and writing
Used with PCM hammer on win 10pro laptop connected ing to it via Bluetooth. It’s work very good. No drop off and was able to read and close my GM 12200411 PCM. Only thing to watch for is that when the laptop sleeps , it’s doesn’t always reconnect and could require a windows restart. That’s more of a windows OS to Bluetooth device connection characteristics.

Fiat car, AlfaOBD app
Our Fiat 500e would not go into drive mode after we changed a dead 12v battery. We used this reader with the demo version of AlfaOBD to reset some error codes from the HV battery system. Worked great. Car runs again. A few tips and highlights: 1) Reader wouldn't pair through the app, but paired just fine through the phone's bluetooth settings. 2) Clearing the initial codes resulted in a different error code (turtle mode), but that disappeared after charging.

Solid product
Great product, worked for about 7 months and saved me the headache of diagnosing issues at AutoZone or a mechanic. I brought a car I paid $750 for from California to Massachussetts and back, and without this tool I wouldn't have known about the direct ignition issue common with Saabs of that year. A quick 5 minute Google search of the codes and symptoms almost always brings up a couple results, the internet is a great place to find people who've had the same problems as you, and subsequently shared their fix so others don't have to go through what they went through. Ive stopped numerous times for people with their hood up and offered to use this tool and almost every time they said they wanted one, after I told one to go on Amazon and get one for $50 he bought it on the spot. Most of the time I'd leave it in my obd2 vehicles and it never once drained my battery, even when the led would Unfortunately, the Bluetooth button is now impossible to press and renders the device useless as often times it seems to change Bluetooth ID and unpairs from your phone. Function: 5/5 I can live with small Bluetooth issues for $50 Construction: 3/5 made from a solid plastic, doesn't look or feel cheap. Bluetooth button has broken after moderate to heavy use I will revise my review if I hear back from the company. 11/03/17 update I'm changing my review because I was able to pop the button back into position and the tool has been working great since.

The Ultimate Two-Wheel and Four-Wheel diagnostic tool! Especially for Android & Windows DIYers!
As a DIYer who handles my own vehicle maintenance, the OBDLink LX Bluetooth has easily become one of the most valuable additions to my garage toolkit. It completely changes the game by eliminating the clunky cables and slow data rates found in cheaper generic scanners. Blazing-Fast Communication: The Bluetooth speed is incredible. It pushes data out faster than other brands I've used, like BlueDriver. When monitoring live engine parameters, there is zero lag on virtual gauges, resulting in fluid, real-time tracking. Comprehensive Code Reading: It provides deep, accurate readings for check engine lights and generic diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). It lets me research mechanical issues on the spot before resetting the lights, eliminating stressful guesswork. Car & Motorcycle Compatibility: It connects seamlessly to all 1996 and newer cars and light trucks sold in the U.S. Better yet, it offers fantastic coverage for motorcycles, working flawlessly with bike software like MotoScan to diagnose two-wheeled rides. Set-It-and-Forget-It Battery Saver: The proprietary BatterySaver technology automatically enters a low-power sleep mode when the engine shuts down. It wakes up instantly when the vehicle starts. You can safely leave it plugged into the OBD-II port permanently without draining your car battery. Software Flexibility: The free official app reads basic codes perfectly. If you need advanced, OEM-specific data (like ABS or SRS airbag codes), you can purchase add-ons directly through the app. However, because it supports the ELM327 command set, you can also bypass paid add-ons entirely by pairing it with third-party apps like Torque Pro, which unlock advanced modules and custom dashboards for no extra hardware cost. ⚠️ Important Buyer Note for Apple Users: Android and Windows users will enjoy a perfect, seamless experience. However, iOS users should be cautious. This LX model uses traditional Bluetooth, which means it has spotty to non-existent compatibility with iPhones and iPads. If you primarily use Apple devices, you should buy the OBDLink MX+ model instead. Bottom Line: For Android and Windows users, this is the best OBD2 adapter on the market. It is fast, highly reliable, and pays for itself after a single diagnostic scan. Highly recommended!

Works well. The app is flawless and you get firmware updates.
I've used this brand before. They work awesome. It's a necessity on a modern vehicle. As important as a lug wrench and jumper cables or jump box

Exceptionally great product!
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! It only took minutes and I was able to see that my 2009 R1200RTP was in great shape and cleared those stored unnecessary codes. Reset service intervals too. I purchased the Ultimate software...so worth it.

Sent back. Defective or poorly designed. -- UPDATED
When it works, it works really well. Got it plugged in, paired and running fine with Dash in minutes. It's nice to keep track of my trips and gas mileage. After three or four days, the interface just stopped working. I had to manually pair it again. Pairing is literally a pain, because somehow the friendly folks at Scantool managed to find the cheapest piece of plastic for that pairing/reset button, and then apparently sharpened it for good measure. The button isn't tactile, so you can't really tell whether it's pressed, reaching under the dash, so one presses harder... which just makes everything worse. Fine, maybe it was a fluke, so I paired the device and ... 3-4 days later, it lost in space again. Long story short, I have about 100 trips in dash over the course of a month, but only about 20 days recorded, because this interface keeps failing. For good measure, I tried it with a tablet and another phone, and it only works for a few days at a time. On the most recent failure, it wouldn't pair for almost ten minutes, just wasn't found. Maybe I got a dud, but for 3-6 times the price of the materials contained inside, I would expect a basic measure of quality assurance. Thankfully, Amazon makes returns of poor products easy. UPDATE 6/12/14. Per the manager's comment below, I contacted Scantool support to receive a new/replacement unit at no cost. They sent me a black one, not the green one I had before, so I can't really speak to the differences. What I observed with the black (MX) unit: - This device has worked through almost two weeks now with only one minor issue: After one week, it wasn't found by my phone, and I had to press the pair-button again to get it working. - The "button" is still cheaply made, but this one does have a discernible "click." It doesn't feel that it's made for frequent use, so we'll have to see how long the device holds up. - Compared to a $20 Chinese knock-off, this does seem to connect quicker most of the time. However, there are times when I'm down the road before the phone finally commences the drive. - This *does* turn off bluetooth when the car is off. The Chinese version would connect to my phone every so often, even though the car was off. While I doubt that that's an issue in regards to the car's battery life, it certain did affect my phone's battery, as the dash app was continuously running. Overall the remedy was acceptable. There was a bit of confusion on the side of the support folks as to why I was emailing them, and they seemed to have missed one of my responses, but once that got worked out, they overnighted a free replacement unit. I've adjusted my review to three stars. I'm still not convinced the flimsy button is necessary on such an expensive device, and I've had one disconnect. I will update if something changes.

Works as it should
Great, still running now. The auto-low power and wake-up is a real 12v battery preserver!

Works well with Torque Pro + K14c in a ZC33s.
I needed to verify ECT, IAT, MAP, TFT, and engine load to monitor engine health, based on a few isolated reports of similar engines with issues. The scanner works well with Torque Pro, an OBD2 Android app that I already have running in an Android head unit. Pairing was good, and its sleep mode actually works, a particularly special feature for my use case because I need to keep the ODBlink permanently connected. As a reference, I tried a Chinese clone before that the app hadn't even read. This device feels solid and works flawlessly. Another case of you-get-what-you-pay-for. The Android head unit pairs with the OBDLink LX well. One more advantage of having a full Android tablet as a head unit, instead of a dedicated automotive sound system. I belong to the baby boomers generation, and I used to look for a sound system for the car instead, but having a full computational unit that allows rear camera, traffic camera, TPMS, and now real-time engine PIDs, besides all your music library ripped from your CDs, right in front of you, is just amazing. Summary: OBDLink LX BT quality is there; time will tell the device's reliability, so I'll keep you posted.
