Over all, these are very good and last quite a while. **Q: It's plastic? How about its durability?** A: I have purchased two of these. I really like the functionality and durability of the steel cord but.... when I get in and out of my vehicle, my keys tend to get caught without me realizing it, once fully extended the plastic casing then breaks beyond repair. :( really wish the casing was more durable. **Q: Max weight before keyring stops retracting ?** A: I do not recommend these inexpensive retractable key chains, they are cheaply made and will not last long. **Q: Can the carabiner be removed and replaced if it breaks?** A: Yes, the it just hooks through a fabric loop- easily removed. That's not the part you need to worry about breaking though. This one, on the other hand, has been amazing. Not only am I constantly pulling it out to open doors but I like to pull it out when I am bored and sometimes the kids I work with do the same. It hasnt come close to breaking once.
