Avalon A3BLK Self Cleaning Bottom Loading Water Cooler Dispenser, 3 Temperature-UL/Energy Star Approved-Black Stainless Steel, 5 Gallons

As someone who LOVES cold water, and living in a city with our quality trap water, this purchase is easily my favorite. It's easy to set up, easy to use, and quiet! We haven't used the hot water feature very much yet as it's the hottest part of the summer, but the cold water option is tested regularly. You can turn off the hot and cold features individually. It takes about a half hour or so for the hot water to get hot enough for noodle soup, and about the same for the cold water to get cold. Once the "change soon" light comes on, we can usually get another 3 or 4 cups of water through the cold tap, but it's room temp at that point. Also, it's nice and quiet. It did in our living room next to the recliner, and we barely hear it working. We've had it for about 2 months, and still loving it.

This broke after 1.5 years. The water line freezes so the water can't dispense. I hired someone to try to fix it and you have to unplug and plug it in over and over to get line to un-freeze. Then it just totally stopped working one day. It's an absolute piece of crap. It's sad they are building products to just end up in garbage dump instead of something that works many many years.

I bought this for a good friend of mine who was just diagnosed with cancer. She was drinking tap water for years and never drank enough but now that I got her this dispenser, she finally drinks enough water. She loves that it has the hot setting so she can have tea & you can turn on and off via the switch in the back so it won’t use as much electric if you don’t need it. She said setup was simple and she has had zero issues with it (she’s had it about 3 months now.) I’ve used it whenever I go over to her house and the noise is not bad at all. It also fills pretty quickly. I’m actually purchasing one for myself because of how much she likes hers.

So let me start with the obvious this bottom loader is a game changer no more lifting 5 gallon jugs Now its a simple slide in bottom compartment, this is huge. Also with old top loader looking at the bottle day in and day out kept reminding me of the office water cooler who needs that The look is smooth and contemporary (I ordered Black) looks like a piece of furniture not a water cooler The top is flat and you can put flowers pictures or another decoration you may wish that fits your style . Now for the people who complain about it being noisy... well when its in "suction" mode necessary due to its bottom feed, it makes noise for about 10 seconds maybe a few more seconds depending on how big of a container you are filling but honestly it is quiet 98% of the time I have never owned a watercooler that didn't make noise in cooling mode I was concerned when i read the reviews complaining about noise but honestly i did not find that to be remotely true It has a light to remind you to change the bottle and that literally takes 20 seconds and a constant cleaning (ozone) mode I love this purchase so far and would recommend without hesitation

Great water cooler. Quiet, easy to load, cold water is cold, hot water is hot. Bought this two years ago and it just died yesterday. Contacted Avalon support and they were sort of helpful. They gave me obvious things to check. Yes - it is plugged in. Yes - it has a full water bottle in it. Duh! The bottom line is that these things last about 2 years (maybe 3 if you are lucky)and then they die. And of course they only have a 1 year warranty, so Avalon knows that they do not last. So be ready to purchase another one at 2 years. Other than that they are great!

So far it’s been great. Assembly was simple. Noise level? Have not noticed. Hot water is hot, cold water is cold. For the money it’s a great buy. And looks more expensive then the other brands. Hot and Cold water came out 15 minutes after install. Update: my unit stopped cooling. The pump was still working, hot water was still hot. The Snowflake light was on. I contacted Avalon cause it states to do so. When I did, they told me I needed to contact Amazon since it was fulfilled by Amazon. “Kinda contradicts” what they say on large stickers on the water dispenser. Amazon was great to replace the unit and easy to work with. Thank you Amazon. So this is my second water dispenser in less 5 months of ownership.

The first unit I ordered looked great, unpacked it, set it up, installed water bottle and immediately water ran out onto the floor. Some investigating revealed that the outlet elbow to the fill tank was broken off the pump. Contacted Amazon and they IMMEDIATELY made it right. Scheduled pick-up from my house and had new one delivered 3 days later. I will say, the 2nd unit was packed the same except it came in an additional box. The first unit did not look to be repackaged, but the unit was not packed in any additional boxing. I am a little bummed that the in bottle water suction straw is not the same. The 1st one had an offset metal straw, the 2nd one has a straight plastic one. Not a deal breaker. So far, seems to be working perfectly. NIce and quiet, keeps water nice and cold, hot works fine. I'm hoping it will last several years.

We bought this dispenser on 3/15/20. It's noisy when the cooling and heating features are on, so we didn't use them. Only used for room temperature water. When the water runs low, it makes a loud gurgling sound letting us know the gallon was empty before the red light came on. All of that was fine until it stopped working on 12/31/20. Considering we never used all of its "features" and there are only two of us in the household, we're highly disappointed in the product. We're calling the 800# and will update the review after we go through that process but regardless, we shouldn't have to after light use for only 9 months.

Excellent product. Cool, not so cool and hot water, all in one. Easy to change bottle. Works great and looks good. Be aware that it can be noisy when it heats the water, but it's only a short, but regular, cycle a few minutes.

We've had ours for a few months now and generally we love it! This water cooler is amazing for the fact that it's bottom loading, it's saved us a lot of struggles. My only "complaint" is that it gets quite loud when dispensing cold water. I highly recommend this unit if you're someone who lives alone and struggles to carry heavy bottles!

I rarely leave reviews, but this product genuinely deserves a warning. I bought this Avalon water cooler thinking I was getting something reliable, and for a while it worked fine. Then out of nowhere, it started freezing the water — yes, freezing — which completely defeats the purpose of a water dispenser. After digging into it, I found this is not a one-off issue. It’s a known problem tied to a faulty temperature sensor. When I contacted support, their solution was basically: “Buy a $15 part and fix it yourself.” No technician support, no proper warranty coverage, nothing. Just a DIY repair on what’s supposed to be a basic appliance. So let me get this straight — I’m expected to open up the unit, replace internal components, and apply thermal paste like I’m repairing a gaming PC… for a water cooler? This is not a premium product. This is a cheaply built unit with predictable failure points and zero meaningful support behind it. By the time you factor in the hassle, potential repair costs, and the fact that this could happen again, you’re far better off buying from a brand that actually stands behind their product. Do yourself a favour and skip this. It’s not worth the headache.

The thing started pouring water all over my floor. I opened the main chamber it had cut wires and disconnections I couldn’t fix. Absolute garbage. Don’t waste your $500 on this dollar store item. Returning it. Will try one more time to see if it was a one off. If it was I’ll edit my review. It’s taken a month for me to even get my refund which is infuriating. To be continued… Okay so, I’m pretty sure the first one they sent us was a return (understandably, it was garbage). None of the individual parts had been wrapped, the box was damaged, and obviously it was very broken. Upon receiving the refund (which took a FULL MONTH btw, heads up), we decided to give this cooler one more change. This one came in a pristine box that was shrink wrapped, the whole thing had all its individual parts wrapped (the drip tray was wrapped and in the box, whereas the first one it was loose in the chamber where the water goes. The tube that goes in the water was wrapped). And it runs like a dream! Super cold and hot water, virtually soundless (some slight vibrational sounds when refilling the chamber after use). Sleek and small. I’m really glad we decided to give this one more chance! I’m not impressed we were sent a return the first time, so I’m still not super happy with the company, but I am happy with the product now that we’ve received a functional one.
