Fedora Packable Foldable Panama Straw Hat Classic

I was looking for a hat that would be cooler here in the Colorado summer than my Tilley Airflo, which I love, but which is a bit hot to wear in the full summer heat. Having worn the hat for 4 or 5 rounds of golf now, I am very happy with the Ultrafino. Much lighter than the Tilley, with far better ventilation. Moreover, the fit is excellent (my head is 23.5 inches and I have the sizeL/XL). Unlike when wearing the Tilley, I can drive at full speed in a golf cart without the Ultrafino blowing off my head. (Although in very strong winds the Tilley would be superior, due to its strap system...there is no chin strap on this Ultrafino.) One feature I didn't expect is that the exterior hat band can be tightened to adjust the sizing slightly tighter. So if you are between sizes, consider getting the larger size ans tightening the hat band. Craftmanship seems very good and in line with what I would expect in this price range. I have not tried packing this hat for an extended time yet, but have folded it slightly to tuck away for an hour or so without any problem. A very good hat for beating the heat, and sharp looking to boot!

I purchased this hat to wear playing golf, and am very pleased with the quality of the hat and the delivery by the company. The hat is so much nicer than wearing a baseball-style cap, is much cooler and, most importantly, offers better sun protection for the ears. While I have not yet packed it for travel, I view this feature to be an added benefit, as I will now have something that is easier to take on trips. I found the sizing to run true, and ordered the hat in my normal size, based upon the sizing shown.

Love the hat, will definitely purchase from them again.There was one minor problem with shipping charges that was resolved immediately. (It came postage due $3.00, no big deal. I noted this in my first review, not even requesting a refund. but they gave me a refund the next day, with out my asking!The hat is a great fit, excellent quality - I've had it for a month now and wear it everyday. It's very cool to wear even in the mid-day sun. Holds it's shape perfectly and looks greatIf you are looking for a Panama Hat this is the company to buy from.

Great product with one caveat, it's not strictly speaking foldable. You can fold it in half but if you want to put it in your pocket or whatever, forget about it. If you fold it more than in half it will not hold it's shape. Having said that it looks great (like a much more expensive hat) and is packable... carefully.

This is a very nice hat. After going on a cruise to the Panama Canal, the wife insisted on getting genuine Panama hats. Great fit, nice fabric.

Bought this for a trip to DC where it would be hot, sunny and humid. The hat stayed on with breezes on a sailing we took. Breezes blew through the weave of the hat to keep me cooler than a baseball hat. This is advertised as a men's hat, but I bought it anyway. Well worth the money and it looks good - not dorkey. I did loosely pack it in my check-through luggage and it survived both legs of the trip. It is not fully collapsible, but it did fold lightly in half. It will vie with my Tilley hat for favorite in the future.

My son ordered this hat for himself and when it came in I loved it. It looked exactly the way it was pictured on Amazon. I decided to order the same hat in a larger size for myself. When it came in I immediately noticed the hat had been changed. To start with the band was now wider and had a cheap looking plastic adjustable clip attached to it to adjust for size. The brim width was wider and took on a 'country' or 'western' look when I put it on. The end of the brim edge was thicker in appearance giving the brim an overall heavier look. The hat to me no longer looked like a 'Panama'. Returned it

I bought this hat because I wanted something I could pack. I was a little dubious about that, but I have to say it really works. I just returned from two weeks abroad. I packed the hat by folding it according to the instructions and putting it into a carry-on bag. The hat returns to shape very well, although I did find that it helps to stretch and smooth the brim by hand, especially in the back. But within a day it was as snappy as ever.The hat is lightweight and comfortable to wear, and it fits well. I did find that ordering my usual size (7 and 5/8) was a little large; I exchanged for a 7 and 1/2 and it fits perfectly.
