I have a 7 quart very heavy mixer that I could no longer lift and that I also did not have room to leave on my kitchen counter. This one is smaller, lighter weight, and does not take up much counter space. I had to get used to mixing and adding ingredients a little more slowly since the mixing bowl is not as deep as the bigger mixers. The mixer runs very quietly but still gives me enough power to mix up my usual muffins, cakes, and bread recipes. The attachments are smaller to accommodate the smaller bowl. The only downside for some may be that the mixing bowl may not have enough room to mix up a double recipe if that is something you do frequently.
