Factory smell is not a big deal at all, comfort is amazing. No more trap pain!
Hmmm... this is only my 2nd review ever. I only seem to ever really want to write a review here when I find something that's really done some awesome for me. Yes I used awesome as a noun. Let's proceed... May be a little tough since reviewing a pillow is so subjective, but here goes. First of all, yes it does have a synthetic-like chemical smell from the factory fresh shredded foam it's stuffed with. It does smell pretty strong but not like barf or anything like that, more like Gak... Anyone remember Nickolodeon Gak?!?!? =)))) I fixed that by throwing it in my washer (regular Tide) balanced with my old pillow, then dried it according to the instructions (no dryer sheet). Fixed the smell right away. It actually recommends this in the instructions and a nice e-mail they sent, on the day Amazon guaranteed it would be shipped by, with usage tips. Now as for the quality... I love it. I'm quite large (6'3", 250lb, muscular build) and go to the gym a good amount. But I tend to get strains in my trap muscles and into the rhomboid area a lot (I'm vulnerable to sciatic and neck pains since an accident a few years back). I've tried the Tempurpedic pillow but it always just seemed too stiff for me and I just couldn't "break into" it. It ended up hurting more. So back to a regular down pillow, even tried a "hybrid" half down, half foam pillow. But even this didn't work too well. I constantly find myself waking up with little to no neck support. I'd also find myself with my head turned almost completely sideways which would make matters in those neck muscles area even worse. This previous point is actually really important (again, very subjective) as this may have been the main problem actually to begin with FOR ME. Also note, I don't live in constant 24/7 pain in my neck but once it tweaks a tiny bit or just decides to spaz out, the matter of the pillow I'm using becomes a lot more serious for several days or weeks after. And this does happen often. Btw, I'm mostly a side or back sleeper, never stomach down anymore for some reason if that matters. So anyway enter this shredded memory foam pillow by "Coop Home Goods". Who the heck are these guys anyway, I'm thinking? With the price, I figured it's worth a shot. Plus the reviews seemed solid. So I got me the King size pillow. Washed it like I described earlier. Threw a polyester pillow cover on it (my preference, I like it cool). As soon as I put my head down I knew my life was about to change for the better. =) It sort of "hugged" my head, neck, and shoulders like a firmer down pillow, without going flat after 5 seconds, holding my giant oversized head in place, and not putting strain anywhere either, like your conventional memory foam pillows (IMO). My only hope was that the quality wouldn't let me down, or that maybe even having the support I've been looking for actually won't help my pain at all. Well it's been nearly 2 weeks. I wake up every morning without any stiffness in my neck or upper trap area. When you lift your head up, it seems to leave an indent that just sort of pops back up. Now it did start to seem to be getting a bit flat, and by flat I don't mean anything like a down pillow going flat. It's just flatter in the middle and my head/neck/shoulders seemed to push the material more to the sides. It actually still works great then and holds my head the way I need it to. I gave it a shot anyway and it was really easy to sort of "knead" the material back to the center and make it feel new again. Not only does it function awesome, it's so comfortable I don't even want to get out of bed! Pillow doesn't get super hot either. Seems even better than my last pillow. I will almost certainly update this review after a few months and see if, according to their instructions, simply washing and drying the pillow really revitalizes it like new. Oh, and a 5-year warranty of not going flat? That's awesome. Overall this thing is great!!!

Best pillow ever
I had this pillow and loved it so my husband decided to give it a try. We both love that you can adjust the pillow to whatever you need as far as firmness and fluff. You can unzip the pillow to remove some fill, if you need to. They also give you a good size bag of extra fill if you want your pillow firmer or higher. However the pillow is so stuffed and full I can’t imagine anyone needing more fill. When it arrives it is compressed so you need to place in the dryer on low for about 15 minutes or you can just let it sit out for a day. You’ll be amazed at how it grows! Definitely worth every penny.

BEST PILLOW I’VE EVER OWNED
I absolutely love my Coop pillow! Got the queen size. Since I started using it, I no longer wake up with neck pain, and I’ve been sleeping so much more comfortably. My favorite feature is being able to add or remove the filling to adjust the pillow to my liking. It makes such a difference being able to customize it for the perfect comfort and support. I’m so happy with my purchase and definitely recommend it!

COOP Pillow Wins! 100 Night Trial Review vs competition
My goodness, the long journey I have been on in order to find the Perfect Pillow to suit my sleeping needs! I think I found the one, this COOP Pillow is the closest to a victor! But let me share my story with you to help you understand! This Pillow was my third attempt at trying to find a perfect "High-End" Pillow for my nightly sleeping needs after having been disappointed by the more expensive $100 Purple Pillow that I received my Refund for when I wasn't satisfied during my 100 night trial as well as the Snuggle-Pedic Pillow that is a direct competitor to Coop here on Amazon. My adventure began with the Purple Pillow, and the most important lesson that I learned from that trial was to take advantage of the trials (Such as this COOP's 100 night trial) and keep buying Pillows until I find the one that is "just right". My suggestion for anybody reading this review would be to do the same, do a little research, and order at least 3-4 Pillows with around 100 night trials that have been highly rated and try each of them to see if you will like it. That is the only possible method to finding the perfect pillow for YOU, because everybody is different, and it doesn't matter how many reviews you read in the end the only way you will know is if you test them yourself! That being said, as I had mentioned earlier I tried 2 "High-End" Pillows before ordering this COOP Pillow and as they say "third time's the charm" because I FINALLY Found the Pillow I decided to keep, this one, the Coop! It's great! I mean it really is, I had SUCH a Hard time not giving this a 5 Star review, it is NEARLY the perfect pillow for me in every way.. except for 1 way and unfortunately I wouldn't be true to myself if I gave a full 5/5 Star Review to a product that has even 1 flaw, which I will explain.. The reason that this Coop pillow that I am overall very happy with is getting a 4 Star review instead of a 5 Star review is that it gets HOT. I mean I can't tell you if it is intentional or not, but the material likes to really stay the same exact temperature as your face if you are laying on your side (as a Side-Sleeper like me for example) while using it. The thing is, because it is the same temperature as your face is, over time your face gets warmer as it is against the pillow, and that in return raises the temperature of the pillow and therefore you begin to sweat and both your face/head and the pillow gets hot and kind of gross so you decide to flip the pillow.. and then everything's all great and shiny stars and jumping sheep until this repeats itself and you have to flip the pillow again. I probably end up flipping my pillow about 4 times a night, which from the "PERFECT" Pillow that I wanted for myself seems like a bit high, I shouldn't have to flip a pillow that is perfect even once in my opinion! HOWEVER, all that aside, I do love this pillow and unless someone can actually recommend to me an even better one (that is similar) I will most likely keep it. The Purple Pillow and the Snugglepedic have been Refunded, this is the last one remaining to choose if I want it to stay, and so far I am leaning toward Yes. To specify, the reason I am still very happy with this pillow is because it provides me with the exact amount of firmness that I require to keep my neck/head level ratio to be comfortable as a Side-Sleeper as well as someone who sleeps on their back from time to time. Not only is it able to provide the exact amount of firmness and support that I require, it does so somehow magically by also being extremely soft and cozy. From the inside stuffing to the Pillow Cover they send with it, everything is SO unbelievable soft it just feels great to squeeze and put your hand through, when I first got it I probably spent hours just squeezing the damn thing because it felt so good to do so haha. No other pillow I have ever tested has this unique sense of softness to it, especially not one that can also provide this amount of firm support. In addition to this, one of my favorite things about this pillow is that Coop also sends you an extra baggy full of Pillow stuffing that you can use in order to provide more support for your pillow, all you gotta do is add more stuffing inside and you can customize your own pillow to your specific needs! I tried this out and added about 40% of the additional stuffing I received from them into the pillow to get the perfect adjustment I need and it worked out great! All of this and they offer the 100 night trial, I would highly recommend this pillow at least to test it out!! Honestly if I don't return it in the end because of the heat issues I am having with it then I will probably keep it and use it forever. If only I could have this SAME EXACT Pillow but w/o it getting so hot so easily, then I would say it is the true perfect pillow of all time!! Well, good luck and happy shopping! Either way so far from all of my pillow trials, the Coop Pillow has won! This review is it's victory!

Found my perfect pillow
I have been searching for a comfortable pillow for a long time. I don't like the foam or gel ones and wanted a softer customizable pillow. I have bought several, from costly high end to mid price, and either send them back or toss them in the trash. I am a side and stomach sleeper and finding a pillow with enough loft for side sleeping while some softness for stomach sleeping has been a battle. The Coop home pillow comes pre stuffed for a medium density with additional fluff included. I added about half of the additional fluff, and so far have been sleeping great. It has not flattened during the night and has remained comfortable. Adding more fluff did not make it lumpy or uneven. The outer zippered cover is soft and washable will the inside holds the fluff. This seems to be a high-quality pillow that can be customized to fit your needs with a little trial and error. I think I may have finally found my pillow.

Finally Found the Pillow I’ve Been Looking For
I have bought a LOT of pillows in my life. In fact, I've ordered four different pillows from Amazon just within the past year. Buying a pillow online is difficult because you can't actually feel it first, so I relied heavily on reviews when I decided to try this one. I'd been dealing with ongoing neck pain and headaches with my previous pillows and finally decided it was time to try something different. This pillow cost a little more than I originally planned to spend, but I can honestly say it was worth it. I was a little worried when I first took it out of the package because it seemed incredibly flat and soft. I remember thinking there was no way it was going to provide the support I wanted. I immediately added some of the extra filling that comes with it, which I think is a great bonus since you can customize the pillow to your preference. When I checked it again later that day, it had completely expanded and WOW. Before I ever slept on it, I could tell there was a huge difference in quality. The outer cover is thick and incredibly soft, and I love that there is also an inner liner containing the filling. Now that I've actually slept on it, I can say this is by far the best pillow I've ever owned, and I'm in my 50s, so I've gone through my share of pillows! It gives me the combination of softness and support that I've been trying to find. I genuinely hope they continue making this pillow for many years because at this point I can't imagine buying anything else.

this is it (hopefully), no chemical odor
Over the years, I have spent a lot of time and money buying pillows. I can never seem to find one that fits my needs. I thought this would be a good option to try because this came up as a top rated pillow from consumer reports. I really think this pillow might be the last pillow I ever need. I saw all the good reviews and I also read all the bad reviews. Pillows are very personal, and a pillow that works for one person may not work for the other person but, I decided to give this a try. I was so excited. This was on sale at Amazon and I got it same day. I have a lot of neck issues and pinched nerves so I thought this pillow would help. Once I took it out of the box, I fluffed it up by hand because I don’t have a dryer. Within 15 minutes the pillow was really fluffy. I tested it out. I’m a side sleeper. It didn’t work too well. I removed some of the stuffing which is luxuriously soft. And it seemed to be comfortable. This morning I woke up with a horrible neck and headache. So, I took a little more stuffing out. It seems to feel better now. This gives just the right amount of support. It doesn’t give too much pushback and it also doesn’t go flat. Yes, this will flatten out a little bit when you lay your head on it, but not completely to the mattress flat. I fluff it up before I go to bed and it works great. I think I have it at just the right thickness but we will see how it goes. Surprisingly, it was not too hot for me like others have reported. I do have a temperature control system on the bed so maybe that’s why the pillow temperature didn’t bother me as much. I did not have any pain in my ears from sleeping on a hard pillow. That was a big plus. It gives Justin enough support and not too much pressure so it’s perfect. The outer shell is really nice. The shell and zippers seem to be good quality. I still use a genuine silk pillowcase because I like it. I think this is my forever pillow. I will add an update after I use it for a while if anything changes. I am hoping for good durability. Last thing, this also comes with extra stuffing if you like your pillow, extra high, or if your pillow starts to go flat, you have more stuffing to put in it. Putting your pillow out in the sun or in the dryer once every couple of months will help to keep it fluffy. I don’t think I would ever wash the foam on the inside. There’s no reason for that. The outer shell is what’s going to get most dirty. Just know, I liked it so much I bought another one immediately.

Sadly, no longer anything special.
Summary at very end of review. A review with some history: These pillows are "okay", but far from the exceptional pillows that they were when the company first started in 2013 . Actually, they're pretty much nothing like what they used to be. The TRUE "original" Coop pillow, prior to the supposed "improved" version that I believe came out in 2016, was made with 100% shredded foam, with no fiberfill mixed. The foam itself was super dense, and had more of a crumbled type consistency. The pieces of foam molded around your head perfectly, like thousands of little pieces of memory foam should. The pillow also weighed a ton, in the best possible way. The foam they use now is light and airy, and what they call shredded looks more like cubes. I can't stress enough how there is no comparison between the original pillow and what they call "the original" Coop pillow now. One of those friends who I recommended the pillows to, and was as in love with it as I was, had called me upset, because she had ordered one for her son, who is always stealing her Coop pillow, and when she got it, she said that it was completely different and she hated it. So when I needed a new one, I went on and saw that they now had more than one model, but was so happy to see that they were still offering "the original". I figured that she must have ordered one of the newer types being offered, like "the Eden". When mine arrived, I knew instantly from the weight that it was over. I was beside myself, because I had struggled to sleep well for so many years, and that pillow had made such a big difference in my life. How do you completely change the innards of something, and have the nerve to name it "the original", just because it's the same size and shape as the original version? There are now many other brands who make pillows just like these. I have tried a few myself over the last several years, and with two out of three of the brands I tried, there was no noticeable difference between theirs and these, except for the price point. To make matters worse, a few years back, the brothers who started this company, are no longer the majority stake holders. Now the majority is owned by a private equity firm, so it's highly unlikely that anything about these pillows is going to get better from here. In summary, f you want an average shredded memory foam pillow, with a lightweight foam/fiber fill mix, that's what you're getting. Just keep in mind that you can also get that from any number of other companies. I'm my opinion, there's no longer anything special about coop pillows that warrants the price point.

Lovely pillow
Really soft shredded foam that moulds to head, neck and shoulders. Adjustable height. I removed about a third of the pile. I’ve tried a lot of memory foam and other pillows as I have a chronic neck problem. This is the best pillow I’ve tried and has helped me recover from tight knotted muscles to feeling Ok. Queen size is a bit bigger than standard UK pillow and needs a slightly bigger pillow case, Amazon have them of course ! I have one in silk for the ultimate in luxury !

Amazing quality and looks beautiful in person!
I've always struggled to find a pillow that stays supportive through a full night's sleep, especially as a side sleeper who tosses between positions. Most pillows either start out too firm and give me neck stiffness, or they flatten out by two in the morning and leave me sleeping on what feels like a pancake. This Coop Eden pillow finally fixed that by actually letting me control the fill level myself, and it's genuinely changed how I sleep. The build quality is immediately noticeable when you pick it up. It's got real heft to it right out of the packaging, and the outer case has a smooth, slightly cool feel to the touch that matches the cooling claims in the listing. The quilted diamond pattern on the cover looks premium rather than generic, and the stitching along the edges is even and tight, no loose threads or weak points that make me worry about the fill escaping over time. The gusseted design gives it a more structured, boxy shape compared to a standard flat pillow, and that edge support has made a real difference keeping the pillow's shape consistent through the night rather than collapsing in the middle. The adjustability feature is genuinely the standout here, and it took me all of five minutes to figure out how to use it. There's a zipper access point where you can open the case and physically remove or add back in the memory foam and microfiber blend fill, letting you dial in exactly the firmness and loft you personally want. I started with the pillow at its full fill level and found it a little too high for how I sleep, so I removed a modest handful of the fill, zipped it back up, and immediately noticed the difference the very same night. Being able to make that adjustment myself rather than being stuck with whatever firmness the manufacturer decided on has been the single biggest improvement over every other pillow I've tried. Sleeping position versatility has held up well since adjusting the fill. I mostly sleep on my side, and the pillow provides enough loft to keep my neck properly aligned without my head tilting at an awkward angle. On nights I roll onto my back, it hasn't felt overly thick or forced my chin down uncomfortably either, which used to be an issue with pillows built primarily for side sleeping. I even tested it briefly on my stomach, which I don't do often, and even then it wasn't so tall that it strained my neck the way a lot of side-sleeper-focused pillows tend to when used in that position. Temperature regulation has been a noticeable improvement too. I run warm at night, and pillows that trap heat have always been a frustration, waking up to flip to the "cool side" multiple times a night. The gel-infused memory foam combined with the microfiber blend genuinely stays cooler against my skin than the solid memory foam pillow I replaced. I'm not waking up as often just to find a cooler spot, which has translated into more consistent, uninterrupted sleep overall. Support through a full night has remained consistent since finding my ideal fill level. Unlike pillows that start firm and then compress flat by morning, this one has held its loft and shape from the moment I lay down until I wake up, no midnight readjustment required to keep it propped up under my neck. That consistency alone has cut down on the neck stiffness I used to deal with regularly. The Lulltra fabric case feels soft against the skin without being slippery or overly synthetic feeling, and it's held up well through a couple of wash cycles now, no pilling or texture changes that I've noticed. Being machine washable has made maintaining it simple, since I don't have to worry about special care instructions or hand washing just to keep it fresh. Knowing it's CertiPUR-US and GREENGUARD Gold certified gave me some added confidence going in, especially since I have mild sensitivities to certain synthetic materials. I haven't had any irritation or allergic reaction since switching to this pillow, and there's been no off-gassing smell that some memory foam products have straight out of the packaging, which was a pleasant surprise. This has been a genuinely worthwhile investment for anyone who struggles to find the right pillow firmness or deals with waking up overheated during the night. The adjustable fill feature alone sets it apart from standard pillows where you're stuck with whatever loft the manufacturer chose, and being able to fine-tune it to my exact preference has solved a sleep problem I'd been dealing with for years across multiple pillow replacements.

Heaven!!
Ok, I’ve just erased my initial review. When I got this pillow I hated it! It smelled so bad. I had to leave it out a week and that was also after putting it in the dryer, BUT!! As much of a hassle that was!! It was worth the wait! This is the BEST pillow I’ve ever had! I must be really sensitive to smells because this affected me badly, but if you can wait out the smell it’s so worth it!! I’ve never had such a comfortable pillow in all my life! It supports my neck and shoulder. I’m a side sleeper so that’s important. I am not waking up anymore with a painful neck and I’m so happy I bought it and decided to keep going even when I thought I wanted to send it back! I fully recommend this pillow. It’s absolutely wonderful ❤️
