Will this fit the 312G? I’m struggling to find the holder part this model.

No, this is for 322, 422, 522 and 622. They have a front connection the 312 has a top connector.

The 322GW does not stick to the windscreen for any lenght of time. Isthere a suction version?

Go onto the next base website and buy the two piece bracket. One sticks ( very well) to the screen) the other part goes on the camera, then they just click together. Halfords DO NOt sell them

It will. fit size wise but it doesn't have the GPS function so it is NOT for a 322GW or above.
