Good spare emergency filter for small hospital tanks
Got it for my small hospital tank for my cold water goldfish. This filter would not cope if the tank holds more than 40 or 50 litres. It does the job for a small ish tank, but I found it a bit fiddly to open it up to clean it out especially when your hands are wet. The only downside is that it came with a European 2 silver prong pin plug, I would never have bought this if it stated that will need a UK adaptor since it was Amazon UK. I got this because it was cheaper to buy it on here than buying it in the shops and would save myself a few pounds. Had to wait to the next day to buy a UK adaptor plug (as no where was open at night & I didn't have a spare one in the house), which then took the total cost of it more than what the price in the shop is because the adaptor only came in a twin packet. Alter the flow of the water coming out of the filter is very easy-to-use, down is slow and up is fast. See my photo and you will see that the green level on the filter inside the hospital tank, is up which means it's on the fast flow. You can turn this down by pushing the green lever down toward the base of the tank and that will decrease the water flow. Apologies for not so bright photos as BobBob the Blackmoor is due for a full clean. Very handy to have in as an emergency just in case you need to put a sick fish into the hospital tank.

It took longer than expected to come and does have the right plug

I have a Betta fish and got spooked about internal filters because I think it was the culprit for some fin damage last summer. I don’t really have a tank that works with a HOB though and the hygger sponge one was falling to pieces. I tried yet another and that didn’t work out, so I anxiously purchased this internal filter and I LOVE it. It works so well, so efficiently, and I have ZERO worries that my fish’s fins may be caught because the inlets are directly blocked by the sponges. You will not have any trouble with your fry or shrimps or any other long finned fish with this filter. It is EXTREMELY easy to clean, you only have to pop out the little sponges casing, remove the lid, and pull out both sponges, swish them around in removed tank water, maybe give them a few squeezes, then reassemble. Perfect. I could not be happier with this purchase. Oh, also note that you can control the filter outflow.
