Mi-Teintes Pastel Pad 12X16 Assorted Colors

Review of this product pertains only to using with Oil Pastel medium. This paper works extremely well with Oil Pastels, mostly independent of the pastel quality: mid-range grades of o. pastels (haiya Ruebens) are much easier to blend and layer, as are Harder o.pastels (CrayPas, eg). Sennelier and similar softer brands deliver outstanding results: The Brightness of certain colors are particularly enhanced. On the rougher paper side, the Tooth thickness allows more layering than the Canson Water Color stock I typically use - Indeed, I had to relearn many color application techniques I highly recommend this product, even to beginners in the Oil Pastel media. It is not terribly expensive and is definitely easier to work with compared to most substrates.

Works perfect for prismacolor pencils

I haven't used the paper yet, but I've used similar and believe it will be good for soft pastels. However, I gave it 4 stars because one of the papers was folded, and thus destroyed. It should have been check before it was sent to me.

Got this along with a set of soft pastels for my niece, and they work perfectly together. The paper has a nice tooth to it that holds the pigment well, and the quality feels great. Nice thickness, no bleed-through, and the assorted colors give some fun options to play with. Great pad for anyone getting into art or building up their supplies!

Nice quality for colored penciling.

Canson Mi-Tientes black pastel paper is a low cost way to practice pastel work. There are two sides to each piece; smooth and textured. The paper is 90 lbs which isn't that thick, but it does well with blending and takes a good number of layers. You have to use a fixative spay if you plan on keeping your works. I'm pretty new to pastels so this paper is great for me.

You can use either side of this paper depending on the medium you're working in. Back side or smoother side of the paper without the texture is very good for colored pencil.If you haven't tried doing colored pencil on tinted paper it's a lot of fun. You can use your lighter colored pencils to get some beautiful highlights, normally those pencils not showing up on white paper. Bundle of paper has options for different colors, get only grays, earth tones, or a mix of colors.

Pastel artists know this is one of the best and less expensive papers you can use with your soft pastels. Sanded surfaces are preferred by many, but this smoother surface takes quite a few layers and grabs the colours nicely. For $17 you can't go wrong. A great product.

The Canson Mi-Teintes is excellent paper for pastels and coloured pencils, and comes in a beautiful assortment of different shades. There are 2 different pad sizes; 9 x 12, and 12 x 16, and the sheets have 2 differently textured surfaces. Soft pastels and pastel pencils work really well on the textured side which has enough tooth to allow for several layers. The smoother side (back) works reasonalbly well for soft pastels but you will be limited with the amount of layers due to a less textured surface. However that side works beautifully with coloured pencils, and oil pastels. Also note this paper is light-fast, acid-free, and reasonably priced. Although my paper of choice for soft pastels is Pastelmat, this is a far more inexpensive option that works well with several mediums, and the lovely colours available makes this an attractive alternative to the more premium priced paper. Recommended.

Das ist leider überhaupt nicht geeignet um mit Pastell Kreiden zu Zeichnen. Nimmt nicht genügend Schichten auf. Mag sein dass es für Bleistift Zeichnungen ausreicht. Aber dennoch bin ich ein wenig enttäuscht. Schade
