I ran it through the wash and low-heat setting on the dryer and it came out fine. It's not the puffiest comforter, but that's a bonus if you want to be able to wash it at home-- I always had to take my other comforter to a Laundromat because my machine couldn't handle it.I've been testing it out during a cold spell, and it's not keeping me toasty... it feels really nice and it helps, but to get through winter, I'm putting two blankets under it. I think this would be ideal for spring and fall or in places with more moderate climates, not as perfect for winter in New York!The fill is nice and even... I checked every square and they're all filled. Works as a comforter on its own or as a duvet with a cover over it.
