Can this be used to anneale

Sorry, they don't get hot enough. And, you need a ramp down knob so you can slowly cool off your glass. We do carry annealers on our website.

Amps/watts? I just ordered one,curious how much cheaper it is to run vs my kiln.

Not sure on wattage, but it’s really not a replacement for a kiln. It’s great to pre-warm glass before torching, especially if your glass is shocky. It only warms up to about 800*. I garage completed beads in my kiln at 920* before running my annealing program.

extremely useful,saves fuel

you need a stainless steel rack for the back and a steel plate for the bottom to prevent sticking.heats rods to 850 degrees,saving on fuel over time.does not anneal beads because it has no controller,but still extremely helpful.they sell a mini bead annealer that looks very similar to this except it has a controller to ramp up and down,i will be buying that too and using both the rod warmer and the annealer.go to their actual website if you are curious about the mini annealer.

Perfect

I had the best experience with devardi glass. I purchased this glass rod warmer. It was defective and sparked shorting the electric. I contacted devardi explained the difficulty and result. They contacted me within an hour and resolved this so great! Today it is usually so difficult to deal with companies with good result, This was the opposite.
