Hand Laced Braid Belt

With most braided belts, you push the belt buckle latch through any random place in the braided leather. Not so with this braided belt. There are set holes in the leather braid with this belt (see picture). I know some people choose a braided belt due to their limitless adjust-ability, this belt won't have that. That aside, this is a fine belt. The leather is thick, and top quality. I'm sure it will last a long time. It's not very stretchy, so if you're looking for that you will be disappointed. I wear size 36 trousers, and ordered a size 36 belt. It fits perfectly.

I've ordered several of these. A 40 size fits 34-36 waist well. The braid holds up fairly well but will eventually start to deteriorate. Can still wear for months but broken braid will slowly get worse (and doesn't show if shirt is worn outside of pants). Goes on sale fairly often, so that is the time to buy a spare. Had a different braided belt before that was almost infinitely adjustable but can't get that any more. This one adjusts in 1/2" increments. Will get another when this wears out.

Reasonably priced

This is my third one of these. I like the finish of the buckle and it's extremely adjustable. Eventually, some of the leather cross-straps do break and you have to replace it, but it seems to hold up well enough and I like the style for my jeans. Unlike some of the other types of leather belts, you don't get stretched-out holes and "kinking" in the back; it's more flexible.

Looks and fits great!

The belt looked great at the end of five months except the fastener wore the leather through to the next hole. I liked the look of the belt so just purchased another one. I had ordered an identical belt in the Dockers brand previously so we’ll see which one lasts the longest. The new belt came in and is hanging, ready to be worn as soon as the other one wears out.

I did not know it was possible to shave leather this thin! The leather braiding on the outside of the belt is so thin and it rips so often that about once a week I have to use contact cement to glue the braid back to the underlying substrate. I bought this belt in two different lengths, both have the same problem. Tommy Hilfiger had to have thought making a belt like this was a good idea, which now calls into question all of their other decisions. I will never buy another Tommy Hilfiger product again.
